They are just not making animation movies like they used to... all of the animation movies today have the same concept. Monsters Inc. Cars. Madagascar... they all kind of look the same in a way. I miss the older animation movies like Thumbelina... Rock a Doodle Doo... Cinderella (the original Disney movie)... those types. Not only was the music better... but so was the storylines... yea the graphics may be better today... but I'd prefer the quality of the overall movie with a bad picture anyday. Which do you guys prefer?? The animation movies of today or of the past??

I enjoy both. The only difference between the two is the graphics. The music is still moving and meaningful, the story and plot are both good and make one feel good after watching it, there's one that I really really love, Spirited Away ! It had spirited away my heart when I watched it!

I really prefer the animations that were made in the past over the ones that are made today. The reason that I think animation of the past was better than what they make today is because of the fact that in the past the animations were actually hand drawn and because of that, there was a lot more love in the things that were made than there is in what is made today. The graphics certainly do look good in those things that are computer generated, but I like the look of animation that was hand drawn.

I super love Finding Nemo because even though it's for kids, I enjoyed watching the adventure. The graphics is good and so is the story. I can watch it over and over again! :) The humor is nice too. :)

I like the old animation movies from japan, besides Akira was one of the most acclaimed animated movies of all time. the animation is excellent even if you watch it now it will still compete with newer animation movie and the storyline is great. and the best of all it was released on 1988. one more anime movie that i like is the ghost in a shell movies.

Akira sounds a bit familiar... like I've heard that name somewhere before. I may have to look that up.. because now I'm curious!! I love anime, too. I miss the Sailor Moon show that used to come on Cartoon Network and a few other channels.. and I love Inuyasha, too!! Thanks for commenting!!

both. i loves both animation, the past and today.th epast concept more to fairy tales or folktales(most of them) with magic and all that, while today animation most of them about machines and technologies even though there are huge number about animal story.personally i love both eras because they have their own excitement respectively.

You've made a good point there. A lot of movies are now just about animals... that's a bit creepy once you think about it.. Thanks for commenting!!

I actually like both animation, though I like the past animation mostly. I just like how the artist can draw the characters in the past. Takes a lot of drawing and work to make an animation movie. In the past they have to draw many pages to make the characters movements. Now these days, it seems like everything is made by computer programs. Of course they draw their characters, but they just draw a concept and then do the rest on the computer, which anyone can do. But I like past animations mostly. I like a lot of Disney movies from Aladdin, Beauty & The Beast, The Lion King, etc. As for the newer versions, I only like Toy Story and Finding Nemo.

I think so, too. Past animation movies took more time to create which probably made the animation artists more passionate about their work.. making the quality a bit more better!! Thanks for commenting!!

Disney and Pixar might not be making movies like they use to (although I thought the Princess and the Frog was really good) but let me tell you, Miyazaki is making up for the both of them! His animations are always complete genius. I love him so much. And there is always such a lesson to be learned. If you haven't seen anything by him, go buy something! You will love it!

I definitely prefer older movies (quite likely because they impressed me as a child, when I was at the right age). My all time favorite is The Jungle Book (and I still can't believe how lame the second part was). Among the new ones, I liked Ice Age (though I couldn't help notice that, with all the advances in technology, the animals still moved a lot like those in the Jungle Book), and Shrek, at least the first two (I have a strong feeling they didn't know when to stop with that one).

I agree.. the animation of the past seemed to have more depth... as I guesse because it took more time to create. I liked The Jungle Book, too but I can say that I've only ever seen it once or twice my whole life!! And I loved all 3 of the Shreks... but I think the last one was definitely one to see in the theatres!! Thanks for sharing!!
