good day bro.. u know, one of frequent cause of slow internet perfrmance is spywares or viruses.. spyware can slow your system by interfering with ur browser and monopolizing your internet connection. it monitors also your internet use and keystrokes which adds delays. the problem w/ this is compounded when there are multiple spyware programs running at the same time. if the problem is severe enough you can lose connectivity altogether so bro i advise that u should regularly run an antispyware program to clean out any spyware in your pc bro.. hmm u can use superantispyware

Upgrading the ram is not enough. Processor is the most important thing like core2duo or i5 core ddr3. the total specs of your computer affects the speed of your internet. just upgrading to 1gb ram is not enough. Philippine internet speed is slow too but i'm using Sony with 4gb ram core2duo ddr2 which speeds up my computer and internet speed as well.

Sorry that's only I could afford to have. I am not confuse of whose telling it right. Some said my memory was enough for my processor specs..congratulations you have a good kind of computer.. Thanks for responding anyway... Mobhomeir here...

Upgrading Ram is good for some things, it will not change your connection online except for video streaming or programs similar. There are websites that can check your connection speed, that I would do first to see if you are actually have the speed you ordered. If it is slower call your provider. You may need to upgrade your connection speed. Another problem is cleaning your computer of cookies and temp files regularly if you are online alot. I use a free program called Ccleaner, I have used it several years now. They do upgrade the free one as well. Having to much in your cookies and temp files can cause huge lag in connections as well as using your computer without internet. I use firefox so I also go in and adjust what I want and how I want it to work for me, I use adblock as well as the tools for cleaning history and updating. Only I do not update as soon as one is available, all browser updates have troubles with media and other things like that so I wait for the bugs to be fixed..lol Hope that helps.

Hello my friend...I will take all what you suggest. First time also to hear your suggestions. When we checked yesterday by my provider itself, when we use laptop it registered 879 which I pay for 1kbps..but when we used the PC it was only a shocking 27 to 29 (speed)...it means the problem is in my PC... Thanks anyway for your suggestions...I appreciate it... Mobhomeir here...

First do a speed test and see if the internet connection is similar to the results of the internet speed. If they're off, check whether your computer isn't cluttered with files and everything because if it is your computer can't handle the loading of pages and limits your internet speed. If it's not too cluttered downloading tcp/ip patch and set it up correctly and let it run. If that doesn't give much of an effect try reformatting your computer. Then if it's still not much to your likings contact your ISP and ask what's going on.

Hello my friend diamania...when we checked yesterday with my internet provider technical people it turned out that I got only 29 speed which I supposedly to have 1Kbps at least. When we checked it with laptop it reached to 879 which is nearer to what I expected to have. SO, I think my PC is the problem... Thanks anyway for responding... Mobhomeir here...

Hello Mobhomeir, 1 gig is already large but what about you're files? how many actually that are installed in your computer.maybe you should try to defrag you're files first, that's what my brother did despite that i had a large memory space, they were still slow in processing. and what is the speed of your internet? is it fast enough for the Laptop? probably you need update in some of your systems. you should try downloading other browsers so that you can compare which is the best in your laptop for research and mylotting in the internet.

Noted it my friend. I will try your idea thanks. I paid my provider the speed of 1kbps, though not to have it fixed they said this is the limit...yesterday at their laptop it registered 879 but when I switched to my pc it was only 29 - 27 that's shocking...so, I guess the problem is my PC..as what you suggested I will try it.. Thanks I will inform you after I will try your suggestions... Mobhomeir here...

This would depend on your ISP (internet service provider). Some of ISPs are not really good, and I know based from experience. Your memory is enough, if I were you I would consult other people who use the same ISP and ask if their internet is going well. Otherwise make sure you don't have any viruses and malwares on your pc. Goodluck and happy myLotting :)

We've found out that when we use laptop speed would reach 879 or more...but we transfer it to PC it was only 27, 30, 29..I think viruses and malwares no problem because they are all updated besides I know really when my pc affected with it... Anyway thanks for responding my friend... Mobhomeir here...

I had a similar problem with 4 gigs of memory and a quad processor. My problem was with the browser which was Firefox. I uninstalled it completely after saving my favorites to disk and used IE to download a fresh Firefox from scratch. I imported my saved favorites, and things became much quicker. If other programs are also too slow on your computter, try a defrag as that can make a big difference. Also check to see how full your hard drive is. If it nearly completely full, it will slow things down. Save things to back-up disk and delete some from your hard drive. Hope this is of some help to you. _Derek

Hello my friend Derek...I had three partitioned disk only one that is being a little bit populated with program but I know it is tolerable as far as load of that particular disk is concern. The other two are not really being used except for a few important files... well defragment maybe I would try it today but I think that's not maybe the real culprit..but I will try to do it..maybe I would have to reformat it..wheww!! reformatting for me would be a so tiring thing to do.. Well, anyway, there's nothing I could do except to do that... Thanks anyway my friend...Have a nice day.. Mobhomeir here...

Perhaps you can contact your internet service provider and tell them your dilemma. If they say that it has nothing to do with your connection, then better go and ask for a computer technician to fix your computer.

Hello Martin, Good to see you once again my dear brother. Well,i am not an expert but, maybe you need to upgrade your process too,and your hard drive as well. Or,maybe you just need some reformat and delete unnecessary file too. Check with virus,it causes the computer to slow down, and also defrag your files to have a better speed. How's life now my dear

upgrading your computer hardware like memory, processors, harddisk, etc.. will not solve your internet connection problem, most likely the problem is out of your hand it is the ISP (internet service provider),. upgrading the memory, and the processor will just make your computer react faster when you open application , and can multitask better, and can handle multi tabs better in your internet browser firefox,IE, chrome but it cannot solve your slow internet connection, rather than spending money buying hardware, why don't you just call your ISP and tell them that your connection was too slow, believe me they can solve it remotely without doing anything inside your computer. All they have to do is to adjust or re-route your connection and voila! problem solve. cheers mikz

Here's the speed difference: (based on technical people of my current provider) Using my PC the speed is only: 28 to 30Kbps Using Laptop with the connection: 879Kbps which is nearer to 1Kbps I need your idea about this... Thanks a lot my friend..your suggestions is highly appreciated. Mobhomeir here...

ok, if that's the scenario then it is probably a hardware or a virus issues, did you already scan your computer for a possible virus? if yes and no viruses found then well go to hardware issues, ok rather to ask you to configure your network devices which is too technical to teach i'll just advice you to replace your network adapter, it is the component where you connect your LAN at the back of your computer (RJ-45) mostly it is a PCI, remove that and replace it with a new one, don't worry it's very cheap here it only cost around $5, maybe this can solve your problem, atleast :D, . Goodluck mikz

Hi Mobhoimer!. I think the problem is not your memory card if you are not using Vista who need memories more than 1 gigabyte. Are you sure your ISP not limited your speed, I found my slow connection because the ISP limited it, If I want the faster one I had to upgrade which mean more money to spend every month.

if your broadband is little then just adjust youself else if check whether the disk where your os has installed is little then you could create a virtual zoning in other disk and follow these tips: 1) never put files which from the internet down the disk where os has exsit; 2) never save files inthe disk where os has exsite; else check whether you are attacked by virus. wish you solve your problem very soon.

I'm not an expert either, but i was helping my dad, fix our router, and we found out that you can edit something called an SNR on your router, which can affect the speed of your internet. It may depend on your router as well. Hope your problem gets fixed soon.

Yeah, you need 4GB of higher now a days. Your computer is running slowly because you don't have the right memory for it. Your computer needs a massive upgrade, or you need to just buy a new computer.

I wonder whether your access internet by wire or wireless connection. If it is wireless connection, please check whether it works properly. If it is wire connection, then perhaps you shall check whether your computer has infected the virus. As it will cause to have the slow connection speed. If it is OK, then you can check whether someone also share the same connection with you. I love China

Hey I want to say one thing that Internet connection is never depending on Memory. As you say that you have upgrade your PC from 512 MB Ram to 1 GB. So I want to say now you may check your internet connection speed and ask from your Internet service provider for upgrading your internet connection in a high speed connection.

That's not the problem my friend because yesterday we together with the technical people of my provider checked already the speed. When we used laptop the speed reached 879 nearer to 1Kbps which is what I pay for. When we connected to my PC it registered only to 27, 29 the highest is 30...so it means the problem is in my PC not their connection.... Anyway, thanks for responding my friend... Mobhomeir here...

changing ur memoty hard disk wont increase ur internet speed. It is just ur internet connection plan that u bought.Ask ur internet provider for better speed connection that is the only way.Other than that u can use download manager like internet download manager or Download accelerator plus, these will increase ur internet speed little bit, changing ur internet connection plan is the best way for higher speed.
