What would you do if you were insulted in a party?

Recently I had been to a night party and was shocked when one man just came up and slapped my friend who was the MC for the night.. We all were shocked there was pin drop silence. My friend just took hold of the situation and apologized to the man who slapped him. The man blinked and apologized too, he said that he was getting fed up and irritated by my friend's voice that he just wanted to slap him and he did so.. He thought that my friend would fight back and there would be a fight and the party would be ruined. That's just what he wanted to do.. As the man was drunk, my friend let him go..His presence of mind stopped the party from being ruined..

Oh my! I would have freaked out when that happened to me. I guess your friend has really gone to a lot of parties being an emcee to always keep his presence of mind in tact all the time. I guess if I were in that situation, I would freeze. I wouldn't know how to react but noticing that the girl/guy is already drunk, then perhaps I wouldn't fight back. But for sure, I would be stunned to the point of no longer speaking.

Parties are for having fun. When the party turns a bit ugly, i look for my way to escape. if i were insulted at a party, i would just wanto leave. How can you enjoy yourself at a party when you are made to feel uncomfortable?

We are the ones who are at the party and we are the ones who make it ugly too. Many of us pass comments on others just to make their friends laugh. That all should be stopped and all the parties would be wonderful to attend. Thanks for replying.

My friend was an MC at that time. He could not ruin the party, he had to keep his cool. He was paid for the work and hence could not do anything. Thanks for the reply.

Yes my first reaction would have been hurt and the feeling of wanting to fight back. Howe ever sometimes we have to take a deep breath and remember the aftermath and consequences. So better to be a bit embarrassed as opposed to being seriously hurt or in jail I suppose.

I quite agree with you, the thing is that at that time if we react then we would repent for our action life long..

I will just leave the place. It is better not to ruin the mood of others.

Oh that is really a bad thing that happened to your friend. I am so sorry to hear that. I really wouldn't know what will i do if ever that happened to me. But I have to control myself to be poised and all that because to think that the guy who did the act is drunk. If the person is drunk and he did that to me then I still might be considerate. But if not I might just have to walk out the party even though I am the master of the ceremonies.

your friend most be really nice for apologizing though i think he did nothing wrong to the guy who slapped him. if i were to be in your friend's place, i don't know if i'll cry or stare with a mad look or what. your friend has self-control. so nice of him.

Your friend sure do have a cool mind. If somebody slapped me like that in front of everybody, i wouldn't think twice and hit him back. In that situation i wouldn't be able to think whether he's drunk or not, because the moment he did that offensive thing, i'm just gonna be seeing red.
