Chile Pulled Together All of Its Resources and Performed A Most Magnificent Feat

The rescue of 33 Miners half a mile below the earth was awesome. They also accomplished this in an amazingly short time. Just 6 weeks from the time they realized the men were actually still alive. This great feat cost them millions, but every penny was worth the lives saved. What a wonderful country.
The technology was great. Nothing like this had been attempted before. What they did will save folks in the future I am sure.
Some of the men will be ill for some time, but it looks like they will all recover from the ordeal. I kept the TV on and watched them as they emerged from the capsule. I saw the first and the last and many in between. Each one was special. The Chilean People should be very proud of themselves....

Thank you for starting this discussion about the rescue of the 33 Chileans miners. I was so happy to know those miners survived and was thrilled to also be a part of their rescue. I was so proud of Chile one would have thought I was Chilean. That was historic and 'twas nice to know all 33 survived and were successfully rescued! Hope they all recover and move on with their lives!

The joint effort of the entire nation was very commendable. Hope the US (which could not rescue the survival of a plane crashed in the river) and Mexico (which could not rescue a healthy young girl trapped in a hole) all learn something from Chile!

This has been amazing from beginning to end...from learning that everyone was alive and unhurt to watching them all reunited with their loved ones on the surface. Like you, I watched many of them come up...cried along with the young son of the first one...and thanked God each time the capsule emerged bringing yet another man to the surface. The Chilean people never gave up on those men and the world never did either. It was a most magnificent feat.

You are right, they should be proud of themselves. It will be difficult for the men for a time but it is great that they have all been brought out safely.
