Greetings Friends! I was wondering if anyone had any tips on selling a car quickly and for a good price? I have never sold a car before, but am atempting to sell mine to get something different. I put ads on all the local classifieds that I could find and based my price on its blue book value. It been two weeks and it hasn't sold yet. Is this normal? Does anyone know how long it generally takes to sell a car? Does anyone have any suggestions or tips to make the process go quicker? Thanks much!

There are many factors involved. Like the type of car, the condition, any accidents before and also the asking price. If your car is a popular marquee, then two weeks without any response is too long. Whatever is the case, hang on there for a while more.

Thanks much! We have had a couple of responses but either they were offering way less than we were asking or they simply didn't follow through. If we are going to lose money from selling it we might as well keep it. I appreciate you input! Thanks hugely! Have a great day!

well my son took 2 months to sell a really nice truck. but he put it in auto tader, not sure if you have anything like that there. and he cleaned the engine up and waxed the truck and took about 12 pics of it inside and out from all angles even the engine, etc. thats when he started getting calls. he also took the price down a bit as these days people are really looking for a bargain. he did loose about 5,000 dollars on it though but at least now he can put that money he got toward up keep of his car and other things.

Thanks much! I have it posted on Auto Trader (I live in Canada) and on Kijiji, Craigslist etc. Its only been two weeks so I guess maybe I am not being patient enough. We cleaned it up real nice and I've taken a bunch of pictures to post with it. I knocked $1000 of the Blue Book value, so I hope that price will be ok. Thanks very much for your input and advice, its great appreciated. Have a wonderful day!

If you can't find a buyer for your car, the best option is to trade it in with the car that you want to buy. You might not be getting a good price in trade-in but this is the only option for you if there is no taker for your car.

Yeah its just a matter of timing. May be by this time the people in your area does not need a new car. But somewhere in time people will surely need on if their old ones breakdown or they will need a new car.
