What do you carry your books in?

I've recently had to start bringing my books to school in a tote bag or big purse since there are so many! Every time I try to carry them by hand, they end up falling and sliding everywhere! For each class we have about 2 heavy books...Or else we have one big text book, and one small work book. So you can see how that can add up. Do you carry your books to school by hand or in a bag? What type of bag?

I usually carry heavy books and place light ones in my backpack. I don't like heavy load in my backpack... T_T It'll shorten the lifespan of my backpack... .

My aunt came from overseas to visit me this summer and bought me this huge tote bag and I'm using it to carry my things for school. It's great because it's so big and I have so many things to carry (books for three classes, a water bottle, a wallet, my ipod, notebooks, ect) Students need to keep so much weight on their shoulders, at least I have a nice bag.

I used to use a tote bag or a messenger bag depending on how many I had ,but honestly I hear that's not good for you or for your back. You should get a backpack just because it evens the weight out on your shoulders and back, whereas totes will put pressure on one side rather than equal it out. Anyway. I hated carrying books around campus all day! That's one thing I'm not looking forward to what I go back.. Ugh!
