Winter is coming soon. How to self-prevent from cold-sick? I have one good experience, if you have some signals of sick like have a running nose, cough or head-ache ... let rub some medicated oil under your feet and take neck-piece, socks ... before going to bed. Not too things to do but it's truly helpful. :) Hope everybody good.

You can't really prevent yourself from getting the cold, however you can help yourself by eating a balanced diet of meat, vegetables and fruit and maintain a healthy weight. Doing this you should help you bounce back quicker from an illness if you catch a cold. You should see a doctor if you are worried about getting sick. I had to be quite cautious about getting a cold or any illness a few years ago because my mom was so sick and passing it on to her could have deadly consequences. If that is the case in your circumstances definately get advice from a doctor.

I was told that vitamin D3 is the best thing for your immune system in the winter. Because of the cold weather, people do not get out in the sun as often as they should and they become deficient in vitamin D (D-3 is supposedly the best form of vitamin D to take...so says my doctor) When I'm not in the sun very often in winter, I take 2,000 IU of D-3, when I do get some time in the sun, I only take 1,000 IU. Despite having 2 boys in school, and hearing that many children were out sick, with colds and flu, my boys did not catch a cold all winter...and neither did I. We also eat fresh, organic veggies as often as we can get them in the winter, drink lots of juice and water throughout the year and we take a multi-vitamin almost every day. It's worked for us for the last year, and it's our game plan for the coming winter.

I think the best prevention is to live a healthy life style. Eat well, get enough sleep, get some sunshine and stay physically active and you'll be overall healthier, which will help your body fight off any infection like a cold. I have read that a lack of Vitamin D (the "sunshine vitamin") is present in those who catch colds and flu often, so add more of that to your diet. Then there's always the advice they give of washing your hands often, avoiding crowds or crowded places and so on.

A really good way to avoid catching a cold is to make sure you get plenty of vitamin C, so you should eat lots of fruit! :) Washing your hands often is also a good way to prevent getting sick, as well as making sure you're dressed appropiately for the cold weather. Also, if you've already caught a cold and your throat hurts, drinking a glass of warm lemon juice mixed with some water and a spoonful of honey works wonders :)

I don't think it's good enough. we should find the cause of running nose, cough or headache ,and cure it completely. In addition,I think the VC will be fine.
