So, I was doing my homework the other day, and I felt like I was having trouble answering questions formally when it comes to typing. I felt like I was answering, writing, and explaining the way I do online... like as if I'm talking. How has communication and interactions through the internet affect your writing style? Better or worse? Do you think grammar structures will change because of the internet communications?

I think my grammar and writing have improved greatly. I wasn't too bad before, but since I started writing especially for pay, it has caused me to pay more attention to my style and grammar. Even though this is a casual writing setting and I'm not real concerned about structure, I think it is just coming out correctly more naturally without me having to think about it too much!

Hi Lore2009, I would like to express my great gratitute to those who work hard to provide us such a fantastic world of internet. With this facility I then have the opportunity to join myLot site as member. Of course I thank my upline who referred me to have fun here. He helped me a lot when I signed up as member without any knowledge to cope with the activities here. This my most favorite site where I spend most of my leisure time. Yeah, participating in writing posts here for a few years I could express my feeling and opinion rather easy with the third language I have practised here frequently. Though I have learned many internet languages from the web, I still like to follow the traditional way of writing style when writing posts here. I apply the short and brief internet language mostly while chatting online in other social network websites. For it's brief and easy to type Happy posting and have a nice day

I'm good in Chinese language which I have been studying since my childhood. My second language is Malay. It's my national language which is a must to study when a pupil begins his elementary. My third language is English which I have great interest to improve at the present. I try to read as much as I could. Hopefully by doing more reading, listening and writing would help to improve my English conversation. I envy people who can speak English very well and fluently

Yes, I think they will change. It's already appearing in places like newspapers in my country, where people are writing shorter notes and their grammar has gone down the drain.

I feel that since I join mylot, my writing has changed from normal to friendly status. Like all the fellow mylotters here, they are friendly expressing their opinions and I am also following their style "the MYLOT" style. It doesn't matter really, if you feel comfortable with it then continue doing it.

I was talking about school work, so it does really matter because it's different professionally.

I think my grammar or English skills have improved the more time that I spend typing on my social networking sites. Because I am learning to speak out more and typing is improving greatly too. But I can understand how people see it as bad because many people type in short abbreviated communication like lol or asap. I notice that many people are making a lot of spelling mistakes on the words they type too.

Your English is really good. For me, I feel like I am less professional in writing now, and it's more conversational, so it's not good when I write for projects and important matters.

Sadly I think grammar has gone down the toilet because of the internet. People do not use full words anymore, I can say I've done that myself. It's a shame really. My writing hasn't improved but I am writing a lot more now that I have joined a couple of sites. It has brought back out my literary side which can only help me with the writing of my book.

Yes, I agree, I feel like I write the way I speak rather than formally.

Writing an article or just an ordinary comment helped me a lot in writing. Importantly, in school whenever we need to write an impromptu write up. I don't see myself running out of ideas on what should I write even without the internet. having a practice like this makes me more comfortable with my writing subjects.

I feel that with time passing I am getting better and better in my writing and new ideas are coming into my mind. Actually my English language was far good before this but during couple of months when I shifted from my country to an other country, I felt that it is going worse, and now during these discussion and response, I am feeling I am improving. So, my view, discussion on internet is better and improving your writing and thinking skills... God bless you...
