They say that for one to be effective in budgetting, one should list everything...from income to expenses. say we have listed down things included in our budget for the month, how well can you follow it? Money is very hard to earn and yet very easy to spend :-)

vangie I budget very carefully and I buy needs first and formost, then if I have money left over after bills are paid I budget it so I do not spend foolishly. Money is too easy to just spend a nd too very hard 'to come by so one has to be really careful.Need is not the same as want. I need to pay the phone and internet bills and meds bill, I want to buy a new t shirt but that can wait, I do not let myself get behing on my few bills.so I think I do a fantastic job of handling my own finances. lol lol lol.

I'm a single mom, being a widow I used to handle my finances as I was the only one earning. When my children grew up and got their jobs, they do the handling of the finances, paying the bills and all that. For quite sometime am not earning well except for the commission of a single sale of a house and lot 8 months ago and the pension am receiving that's being added for the expenses as well. I just wish I could close the real estate sale tomorrow so, I would have finances to be handled again. I wish I would have savings this time.

I generally am very strict with my finances and my wife does very well with the budgets. We have one's for all areas, which allows us to worry less about money we don't have. It's very simple once you get into a system and when you have very little to go around you know what you can spend, it's very helpful to avoid struggling. Very well personally, we don't spend what we don't have and we always make sure there's some to fall back on which is often saved.

My financial strategies when I was still studying are the following: 1. I compute the expenses in a piece of paper, before I go to bed I check if these expenses are necessary or not. 2. Left and Right pocket. I usually placed my savings on the left pocket and on the right the amount the I am willing to spend. 3. Coin or pig bank. This technique in saving money is very effective.. I've been doing this since I was a kid. 4. Bank 5. Investing on jewelry/ land expensive but it will appreciate in value, just like land. 6. Seeking professional fund managers.
