Exaggerated blood in movies

I was doing a movie marathon lately. Done watching Manchete's Danny Trejo and Jessica Alba's version, and also Piranha, The Expandables and such like. I noticed something similar, blood are so exxagerating, I mean for me its not really that normal having those blood spilling over a human killed or hurt. Have you noticed that ? Any comments with these kind of movies ?

I do notice a lot of that when watching some horror movies. I think all the blood is used for exaggerated effect. The gorier and more blood the creepier. It gets more of a reaction out of the viewers to see all that blood all over the place. At least that's what it does in my case.

Well machete is not worth commenting on. and in the 80s movies tended to exaggerative like that. so expandables is simply a tribute to those movies. Then there's 300, ninja assassin and so on where they keep doing that to make it look cool. weird understanding of cool in my opinion.

Maybe you do I have a several friend like you do who literally vomits or collapsed whenever she sees blood. And whenever I go with her in movies, we have to make it sure that there's less or at least not a bloody one. Afterall movies are meant for fun and entertaining why get there when you find yourself stressed ? Thanks for the response.

It's disturbing to me that audiences eat this kind of thing up. What have we turned into that such movies are so popular?! I used to like horror movies but they've turned into nothing but blood and violence. There is no psychological suspense or surprises. I rarely watch a horror movie made after 1980 or so because of this--there is no real horror, just violence and blood. The public's appetite for these things says a lot about our society. I much preferred implied violence, like a person falling in a jungle river and you saw the water boil up and knew it was pirhana--the brief screaming was the only overt indication of what was happening and my imagination surpassed anything the special effects people could have done. Not criticizing you, but we are turning into a nation of unthinking sheep that are addicted to violence.

Haven't watched anything lately so i can't tell. Have you seen real human bleeding so you say it is exaggerated?

Yes, we do bleed when we cut ourselves with knifes accidentally and its not that like water flowing as if it doesnt have an end, lol. I don't only find those movies gruesome but also funny on the other side, I don't think these filmmakers has to exxagerated things just to notice these effects by people, well obviously now its more than being noticed, becomes the movies' main attraction.

Those kinds of movies are what I call "filler" movies. I wont go out of my way to watch them in theaters or know their show schedules on cable. If I happened to be bored, or maybe watching tv but there isnt anything good to watch, then Id watch those movies. Blood is a key element in any action/horror/epic movie. Aside from the great effect on screen(someone with fear of blood might just faint or something), it also tells the audience that the life of the character can be easily blown into bits just like that. The spurts and pools of blood are just for shock value. Anyway, it's really just a matter of taste from the producers and the directors if they put buckets and buckets of blood for just a paper cut. It is also up to us, the audience, on how we would receive that in a movie. That's just what I think.^_^

I love gore. I really enjoy zombie and vampire movies. The thing about the blood is that it is usually really fake so it doesn't gross me out so much. real life blood makes me feel faint and sick to my tummy.
