Do you like pumpkin? I don't like pumpkin by itself. You might think this is strange but I do like pumpkin pie, though. I guess it's the sugar in it that makes the difference. I don't know. Most of my family doesn't like pumpkin or pumpkin pie, either. I have a recipe for pumpkin pie somewhere that I used to make around the holidays and my family loved it, even though most of the time they didn't like pumpkin pie. It might be because it's more like a chiffon pie. That's what I thought, anyway. The recipe calls for canned pumpkin. My mother told me one time that my grandfather (her daddy) loved pumpkin by itself! There is a pumpkin patch not far from where I live. I would like to go through it sometime but they charge $10.00 per person! The money goes to a good cause but I just don't have the $10.00 to spare. They also want you to pick out a pumpkin to take home. I used to love to have a jack-o-lantern for Halloween on our front porch as a child. However, I just don't have any use for a pumpkin any more since I don't really like it and I wouldn't know what to do with the meat part. I don't know what we did with the meat when I was a child. I think pumpkins make a beautiful Fall decoration, though.

No, i do not like pumpkin. My youngest went through a phase of liking pumpkin pie & i made them for him but he was the only one that ate it. I use to have a girlfriend 's mother that cooked it & i liked it back when. I tried cooking some once but mine sure didn't taste like hers, lol.I have bought my grandson small ones the last 2 years & he likes to draw things on them. he always wants me to do one w/him so of course i do, lol. Hope he doesn't decide he wants me to stand on my head, lol. I like to see all the fall arrangements in people's yards but i don't spend money for that either.

I think it makes a difference if you like something in the way of food and all of a sudden you get hold of the same thing sometime later that wasn't all that good and it turns you against it. That's the way it is with me, anyway. I always look forward to having some pumpkin pie for Christmas and Thanksgiving. You must like Sweet Potato Pie better. I know some people do.

I like pumpkin and it's my favourite dish since childhood. However, most of my friends do not like it and so I couldn't share with them how nice it tastes. I like it to be cooked plainly, with a little of sugar added. Pumpkin is in fact quite nutritious and suitable for people with o-type blood. I read it from books and that's why now I like it even more Thanks for your interesting sharing about pumpkin. Happy posting and have a nice day cyrus123!

Since I am a pumpkin lover, so pumpkin pie is also my favourite I could hardly find pumpkin pie over here because the locals seldom make them into pie. However, I did taste the pumpkin paste spaghetti. It's nice and I would like to try it again. You are most welcome and happy mylotting! (Actually it's noon over here, +8 time zone )

Like I said in my discussion, I like pumpkin pie but not pumpkin by itself. I remember before I ever tasted any for the first time, I thought it would be like watermelon or cantaloupe. I found out it wasn't quite as good, though, lol! Yes, another mylotter also said it was nutritious. Thank you for responding and I hope you have a nice night.

He must have really liked it! I don't think I've ever heard of Pumpkin Cobbler. I figure it must be the same as Pumpkin Pie. I could be wrong, though. I never did carve a pumpkin, myself. Somebody did it for me. I would probably do it, myself, now but I don't see any sense in it since I'm an adult.

I have never had straight up pumpkin. I have always had pie or pupmkin bread..I love that stuff. I remember that my grandmother would take the insides of the pumpkin when we would have a jack-o-lantern and suddenly we had a great pie or some bread...I wish I had seen how she did that.

I don't think I've ever heard of pumpkin bread. I bet it's good, though. I never did carve a pumpkin, myself. Somebody did it for me. If I had the chance now, I would probably do it, myself.

Punpkin buy its self really just tastes like squash. It is good but it is not sweet. I actually like to get acorn squash and a can of pumpkin. Mix pt pumpkin with ginger, nutmeg, ground allspice, and cinnamon and cream. (just like pumpkin pie) Then fill the squash cavity with the mix and bake. It is soooo good!!

Welcome to mylot, CandyRayne! I never thought pumpkin tasted like squash, myself. I don't know if I've ever eaten acorn squash or not. I bet pumpkin is good mixed with all these ingredients, though. It sounds like it would be a great Thanksgiving dish! Thank you for responding!

Pumpkin is a very healthy vegetable. It is sweet and it tastes well. However, somewhat we don't eat it quite often. I don't really know why. But I like to make the cream pumpkin soup and it is one way I like to eat pumpkin. Perhaps you can try it. I love China

I never have heard of Pumpkin Soup until I started this discussion. It seems like another mylotter said the same thing. I will have to try the pumpkin soup sometime. I bet it is good.

I bought my pumpkin at 99 Cents Only store and will keep it as a decoration until Thanksgiving and then make pies from it. I like to make my own because the store-bought pies have too much sugar for my liking. I have never in my life paid $10 for a pumpkin. I will buy whipping cream at the Dollar store, too, and make my own whipped cream. My pumpkin is too big for just one pie, so I will freeze the meat part and make another pie for Christmas. When I was a child my parents grew squash and my mum made pie from that. I like squash or pumpkin pie better than sweet potato pie. But I love sweet potato shakes with milk and honey blended with ice cubes. YUMS, healthy and tastes better than ice cream to my palate.

99 cents for a pumpkin sounds like a good deal! I never have eaten a store bought pumpkin pie but I'm sure the homemade ones would be better. I like things fresh, anyway. You have some good ideas here. One of my other mylotter friends said pumpkin is nutritious. I sure didn't know this.

Hi Kathy~ I would definitely agree with you that a Pumpkin is a beautiful Fall decoration. I just love the way they look. I also wouldn't know what to do with the insides either. I do like pumpkin pie, but not that much! And I actually like sweet potato pie and I haven't made one in years! I buy one for Thanksgiving usually. I am not really a pie eater. I much prefer cake and so does the bf.

Hi Opal! I'm not much of a pie eatter, either. I actually like cake better. Pumpkin Pie happens to be one of my favorites, though, and I can't wait to have some! Some people do like Sweet Potato Pie better than Pumpkin. Most of my family likes Sweet Potato Pie better. I think they're both good, myself.

I like Pumpkin pie alot but it has to be made with sugar. My husband makes them for family members who have diabetes but he makes it with splenda so it gives it a different taste to me. I told him if he is going to make it for me it has to be with real sugar. However, my favorite pie is apple. Have a great day!

Some people like to just eat the pumpkin. They even eat the seeds baked in the oven. The only way I really enjoy eating pumpkin is pumpkin pie with lots of whipped cream. i can hardly wait!

That's the only way I like pumpkin, too. I can't wait, either. I never have heard of anybody eatting the seeds baked in the oven. That seems a little strange to me. Thank you for responding.
