Is it wise to start learning Chinese now for a better future?

They said the Chinese will soon have the high purchasing power to travel around the world. And this purchasing power shall enable them to be found anywhere else. Perhaps it will take over the English language with the billions of speakers they have. So does it make sense to invest in learning the Chinese language now?

I definitely think China or India are the next upcoming World Powers. And if you're going into the business market it would not only be beneficial to learn Chinese, but probably mandatory. When I was thinking of doing international business/law I was going to take Chinese. It's a beautiful language as well.

I think Chinese language will be the next important language of the world besides English. Most of the higher institutions in my country have have started their chinese language as an option in courses offered. One of my siblings is lecturing mandarin in one of the local university here. Learning chinese is not that too difficult. I learn chinese by mixing around with chinese friends and I can speak fluently in few chinese dialects.

I think that it would be wise learning chinese because in my opinion china would be the new economic empire. Furthermore I think that the chinese language is very difficult to learn. It is full of accents and there are a lot of world to learn!

I agree that it will be the new economic empire. Not really agree that it is very difficult to learn, as the difficulty of the language depends on the persons' attitude towards the language and his/her mother language. If it is far from the chinese, it is. Just like for a Korean or Japanese to learn Chinese is easier than for a Spanish or Italian. But then again, attitude and interest counts! :)
