Hostage situation

If you and your best friend were held hostage and the person that is holding you hostage said one of you can leave would you leave or would you let your best friend leave. I would let my best friend leave because I know when she does leave she would go get help for me.

I would let her leave because I could not with good conciounce leave someone behind like that. It would also be my hope that she would then go and get help for me as well. Then again I have kids, if this friend did not have kids then I might do what is right for my kids and go, but I am sure my concionce would make me tell the other person to go.

This would not be a choice that I could live with. i would try to find a way to turn things around on the hostage taker. i would find a way for my friend and i to both walk away unharmed.
