Does this mount erupt often or is it just recently it started? Because if this happens quite often, though the people don't want to move, they have to for safety. How close are to to this mount?

Wow, that's pretty close. Are you going to consider moving further away if it is expanding?

Of course I would go further, if needed. We are still cautious, because the hot clouds still hold out until now. In some areas also have been hit by cold lava flood.

Where I live 20 km from the mountaintop. The last eruption was great. Hot clouds do not stop for 4 hours, hot clouds sliding distance up to 10 akm, and is expected to continue expanding.

Hi sweetie. I think everyone should be moved out of the whole region. I honestly hope they won't move back if this is over. I hope you all will be alright. Luck. TATA.

It's always sad to hear of any disaster. Can we stop a volcano from erupting? There is no way we can stop the wrath of nature. Our only hope, our only defense is preparedness. Perhaps the world could come together to be able to predict accurately any major earthquake or volcanic eruption and put in place a working alarm system. Hope the wrath of Merapi ends soon and the survivors be allowed to return home to continue their lives.

My goodness indahfth! I would move away and never come back! I cannot imagine the fear the people must be experiencing! Mount Merapi has erupted time and time again and it’s all too scary. Hope you and your family are fine and that there are not any casualties amongst the people...

Just be careful out there. you never know if the next eruption is strong for some reason. some volcanos takes a while to stop but i hope it will stop after this explosion.

I watched the movie 2012 last night and watching a volcano erupt is something that someone would wish that he will not be around when a real one explodes. I'm sure you are tensed and exhausted from the evacuation and the life you have to endure in the evacuation camp. I wish all of you could go home and go back to your normal lives again. "Insha Allah". Take care always.

Merapi is one of the most active mount in the world. As Mbah marijan said, the previous eruption was only 'coughing'. People around there now are problematic. If they don't move, they'll be killed. If they move, robbers will visit their house. However, the first option is far better. Merapi is still active and will kill more and more people. May God give the best solution for us in this case. we do not want anybody be killed again this time.
