I do!!! I find myself singing or whistling Christmas carols in the shower, I start cleaning again my recycled jars for the jams I´ll make as presents, I star looking up in odd places to see where did I put away the gift paper that I will recycle this Christmas. This year I have put some of my garden flowers to dry so that the gift looks better. Do you change your ways before Christmas? Do extra shopping? Start making cookies? tis the season to be jolly!!!Share!!!

I do kinda get into the christmas spirit when it gets closer to christmas but mainly because I can see the excitement in my 3 1/2 year old daughter...I think this is the first year that I am ready for christmas - I have most of my presents organised & just need to get a couple of more presents & I'm done. I tend to bake more when it comes to christmas & I do extra grocery shopping too.

At that age the kids start to get the Christmas spirit themselves and you can enjoy their happiness.

I bought shirts and then cross stitched something on them. A rose for my niece, a couple of cats for my bro's then girlfriend (now ex-girlfriend but we still like her), a duck for my uncle, a zebra for my sister and a hummingbird for my mom.

Hello marguicha, yes, i do right after Thanksgiving and Here in Penna sometimes it snows right after Thanksgiving day or should I say snow flurry. The Poconos got flurries last weekend when I was driving to get my daughter Shawn and we both said Christmas at the same time. I do like songs even before Tahnksgiving but only like one Christmas song every 4 hours I cool with that. I do try do my shopping before Thanksgiving because I feel the sales are better then. Thanks and have a great night Sincerley Unique16

I had a white Christmas only once in my life, when I was a girl and my family was in the IS for a year. It was beautiful. In my country, Christmas is in Summer. No jingle bells, no sleds, no snow. Maybe it´s ok though because I bet that now that I´m old, my knees would hurt more with the cold.

Wooohoo! Whenever I hear old christmas songs and the fresh cold air I inhale, my body shivers. I feel excited when october comes. We usually go shopping on December in malls. Preparing cookies as well. Putting Christmas lights at our house. And preparing Christmas tree inside our house.

The sights, smells and sounds that elicit our senses during Christmas seem to stay with us our whole lives. This is what Christmas really about. Memories of Christmas dinner with friends and family fill our minds and plans for the next family Christmas dinner are already in the making.

Not this year. Normally, I get very excited when Christmas is getting near but since my spine surgery two months ago, which had me doing a lot of thinking about my life, I haven't been able to get excited about Christmas at all. I realized that I am the only person in my family who cares at all whether or not we have a Christmas tree, decorations outside or inside the house, Christmas music, go out to buy gifts or make gifts, wrapping gifts, baking cookies, cakes, pies, etc. Oh, my family, small as it is, does care about having all that food on the table for the Christmas feast! I know they'd be seriously disappointed if there was no turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, etc. If I put a plate of hamburgers on the table, I know they'd look at me like I had lost my mind. They just don't give any thought at all about how much energy goes into making that Christmas dinner a reality. I can't remember ever getting thanked for preparing that meal, either. Maybe my sons have thanked me but my husband never has. As a matter of fact, I think that if Christmas suddenly never happened again he wouldn't be phased a bit. He could do very well with no holidays again, ever. Even our anniversary means nothing to him. I have to remind him that I'd really like to go out to dinner with him for him to take me out and even then it's usually not on our anniversary, but later, like a month or so, and I have to be the one to make the plans. Nah, not this year. I'm tired of doing it all by myself. I buy all the gifts. I wrap all the gifts. I buy all the food. I cook all the food. I take all the decorations down after the holidays. I'm tired, so very tired, of doing it all by myself. It's no fun unless you're sharing all the excitement with someone who is just as excited. So, there will be no Christmas here this year because I'm on strike.

I understand you perfectly well, friend. Many times in my life I have wanted to be on strike and many times I´ve done it. I never changed the world and only few times I made my point. But I felt better after doing it. I have found out that many of our loved ones are not aware that they are hurting us. Why don´t you make a "letter to Santa" this year and give it to them in advance? I think that this answer would go very well to start with. Address it to Dear Santa and explain what are your wishes and what you DO NOT wish to have as a present. Don´t buy the turkey, don´t stuff it. Relax. You can tell them at Christmas eve, over a table with nothing on it ( if they don´t place something there to eat), that you are giving them your happy face this time.

not so much fun any more for several reasons. but who knows maybe i will get more joyful as i buy presents for my little grand daughter here. maybe they will bring the kids over and i'll finally start getting the joy back like when my kids were little and like the 8 yrs i was with my last, late hubby. before he passed away. i know halloween sure made a difference with her around.

There is a sad part of the holidays when it reminds us also of the loved ones who are not with us anymore. But children make us get into the Christmas spirit and we become children again.

Sounds to me like you're on top of things! I get in the spirit a bit myself. I'm help manage an online group and every year around the day after Thanksgiving I start rounding up everyones' addresses of those who want to take part in our Annual Christmas Card Exchange! That's always so fun to do. I've done most of my Christmas shopping and today I shopped for one more gift and now all I have to do is wrap them up! So, I do get in the spirit of things myself. Even though I´m an agnostic, Christ is a great Master for me. And the spirit of Christmas has nothing to do with a race between people about who gets or gives the biggest gift. For me, the true Christmas spirit deals with the most pure form of the idea of love and I give toys (small, it´s not a race of money)to the small grandchildren and something made with my hands to the grown ups as a token of love.

not this year, for some reasons this year was tougher, financially actually. i would love to have that christmas spirit in it but honestly when we say Christmas it means gifts and parties and it gets to be expensive. i know i know christmas is not all about gifts and parties and decorations but still it makes a difference. but we are doing it still special for my kids...we are still planning about it how.

Hiya margi, I am already humming Carols when no one is about they are not very Christmassy like that anyway. I don´t actually go out Christmas Shopping yet but I did spend a bit of time looking through the publicity that they put through your Letterboxes about things you can buy for Christmas just to give me ideas. Let´s hope my ideas are good ones.

I also do research on any place to get ideas for nice gifts without spending much. Many times you get wonderful ideas about things you can do with your own hands by browsing the most expensive gifts ideas in publicity. That´s where I got my dry flowers idea and I picked them up at my garden. As you are in the Fall, you can use Fall leaves of beautiful colours to make presents look awesome.

I do get very Christmasy when Christmas gets near. I love the holiday Christmas because it's such a joyus holiday. I do sing in the shower sometimes or just sing carols around the house. I also look forward to snow coming when it gets closer to Christmas. The snow really makes it feel so much more like Christmas.

December is, for me, the month of Christmas. I feel, as you do, that it is a joyous time. In my countrythough, Christmas is in the warmest month of Summer. Still we see hired Santas wearing fake beards and warm clothes made of plush! Take care!

When I was a child,I really loved to see Christmas tree in our house. Here in our country, the Philippines, I can feel the true spirit of Christmas even one month before the Christmas day.Hanging of the greens along the houses, and we call it parol, a lantern that made of bamboo sticks, and lights on it.

A real tree, with the pine smell, belongs to my childhood years. I don´t have my Christmas at home anymore, but we get together at one of my daughter´s home. They have artificial trees but I still yearn for the real ones.

I would have to be honest, here in our town whenever it's near Christmas it isn't that lively as it used to be. I'm not sure why, probably because our country is suffering from crisis. But non the less, our family still celebrates Christmas and whenever Christmas songs are played, we always seem to get that Christmas feel. I strongly believe that radios and televisions that play Christmas Songs and Show Christmas movies play a very big role on Christmas season since it helps us remember what Christmas is all about. Sadly no. It's been years since I felt that way during Christmas. I missed the feeling, it seems like I outgrew it like it's a childhood thing. Santa Claus may have something to do with it a little.

I enjoy Christmas but I don’t get really excited until the week before because I am usually very busy running around organising gifts until then! It is when they all wrapped; the venue for the day has been decided as in whose house we’ll go to for the day that I can relax. I particularly love Christmas Eve. We almost always go to the carols by candlelight earlier in the evening and watch the ones on T.V. when we get home. It is then that the spirit is truly set! Wishing you a Merry Christmas in advance! (LOL)!

Hi, Christmas is just another holiday for me.nothing much for me. I do not celebrate christmas but i love to see christmas decoration and listen to christmas songs.Probably because i am not a christian, that is why Christmas is not that special day for me. But for this year, I plan to get mini christmas tree at home...for my son. He has been asking me to buy him a christmas tree and this year, I plan to get one for him.

For me, the true Christmas spirit deals with the most pure form of the idea of love. I feel that presents for little children (and trees and lights) is a way of making them understand that we care for them. And the get togethers with family mean exactly the same.

I'm really happy whenever CHRISTmas comes for I always remember that JESUS was born for our salvation. But it also saddened me because alot of people celebrate CHRISTmas for gifts, shoppings, parties, etc. The true essence of CHRISTmas has been forgotten. Lets remember the true reason for this season. Why not think of something that we can give to the CELEBRATOR.

In my country Christmas is in Summer. I live in the southern hemisphere. And I am agnostic but I think that the real meaning of Christmas has more to do with love than with religion. I find it very full of symbols, no matter if you are a believer or in what you believe. Sometimes I laugh at some of the figures. Imagine an old man in furs and sleds in a country where sun is hitting hard. Nevertheless, there´s the family getogethers and the buying toys for the children and making jams for the grownups.

Yes I also feel that "christmasy" spirit you are talking about. Suddenly the waft of the air gets cold, the radio stations play christmas carols, lanterns and christmas lights are everywhere at night, parties in every corner, Christmas SALE in shopping centers...etc. The thought of these really makes me happy and excited because Christmas celebration brings family together.
