christmas stress

as a woman i love the idea of christmas but always become too stressed to really enjoy it by the time it comes around. do you think that women wether single or with families take on too much during this time of the year to become the perfect christmas hostess, glamourous party girl, event organiser etc?

I am single and I have not been stressed ever during Christmas. My Mom I remembered she was not stressed either because we kids helped her during the holidays. And there's nothing to be stressed about if you don't go last minute shopping and not doing elaborate parties and not attending every party you are invited to. And it's not stressful really if you spend just within your means and think that Christmas is really celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and not something commercial.

I think a lot of women try to do it all and wind up being stressed and even sick over it all. It would be better and easier to choose only a few things and let the rest go. I know that I still want to go out looking at lights, go to my sister's party, cook a big Christmas dinner, buy tons of gifts, wrap them and put them under the tree, make something for everyone, etc., etc. It isn't possible, so I choose what I can reasonably do. It took me a lot of years to figure that out!

depends on the woman... but my wife does like looking for presents even though she knows full well that we won't get too many.. so shes sort of wasting time but it keeps her happy just to look. She likes to plan things for christmas but she doesn't like being the hostess or party girl... she prefers to be the person sat in the corner or the child minder lol
