I could have sworn that Pelosi said she would leave if the GOP took control of the House. Well they held their end of the bargain, now why isnt she? Now she wants the House Minority Leader seat. Do you think she should try to keep a leadership position or step away gracefully?

She's a politician...you should know how they are by now. They say whatever fits the moment so it's no surprise that she didn't pack her bags and now wants to be the Minority Leader. Few politicians walk away...and they shouldn't. I think whatever she ends up doing will not be an independently made decision.

It will be interesting to see if they let her. I know a lot of dems tried distancing themselves form her during the election.

I don't know if Pelosi said that or not, but Rush said he'd move to Costa Rica if health care reform passed. No luck there, either.

More than just Pelosi, it seems as if most politicians in general, whether right, left or in the supposed middle, love being politicians. On an incredibly serious note, I'd love for someone to explain a guy like Barney Frank to me. Here's a guy who's 70 years old and has been a politician for the past 40 years. He's been in the US House since 1981 and was in the Mass. House for nearly a decade previous. Even assuming he was really honest and full of integrity and looking to make a real change, wouldn't he at least judge himself as ineffective at this point in his life due to the many gaffes he's made, mistakes he's tried to cover up, things he's let slip by his watch, etc? Wouldn't he, if truly believing America needed to be a better place through government action, gracefully bow out and let someone else have a go? For guys like Frank, the answer is an obvious HELL NO! This guy dipped into his own pocket to get elected yet again. He went crazy with the BS patented Frank tactics of insulting the guy, screaming over him during any debate, deflecting every question and avoiding responsibility. A senior citizen fought tooth and nail to keep his position of power. Man, that sums up American politics. And Frank certainly isn't the only career politician interested in nothing else outside of being a partisan schmuck and being a career politician. Two bills that will never make it to the President's desk - term limits and pay/benefit cuts for Congress. They will never admit defeat, even in defeat. Pelosi would hide under the desk before leaving.

good points and I agree those bills will not see even a vote. "We the people" should DEMAND it.

Nazi Pelosi has no concept of what it means to keep a promise or hold up her end of a bargain. She has not a nodding acquaintance with the truth. Remember, she is the traitor who committed fraud in sending DNC certifications to 49 SOS's omitting the "eligibility" clause for Obama, yet sending the same form, WITH the clause inserted only to HI. She belongs in jail along with the usurper; she's so obviously power-mad. I'd call her insane for her statements like, "We have to pass the bill before we can read it", except for the fact that "we the people" are insane for allowing a criminals like her, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, and the demonic democrats and usurper to rule us rather than be consigned to jail for their crimes.

I don't remeber ever hearing her say she would leave. I think this was wishful thinking by some and once again innuendo turned truth by media.

Step away gracefully? Are you kidding me, Laglen? There isn't a graceful bone in that lady's body. Her "humility" in defeat is unbelievable. Gees, even the President finally offered they'd made mistakes. Pelosi...no way. We lowered the deficit (LIE), we brought needed health care reform (LIE)... I would hope the Democrats in Congress would tell her..." Enough...we've had enough of your leadership. Those of us left will try something new and very different, like try to hear the American people for a change."
