Article on when makeups expire

How long does our makeup last? It is a common question and concern. But with all the makeups out there...whats the basic time line? I found this on Yahoo.com and it seems to have the basics...at least where to start with what. Lot of it is common sense and cleanliness, but still...good to refresh every now and then..

Nice article. I do not use any kind of eye personally, but those are the ones to watch for. Some kinds of lipstick can last pretty long if they are kept in a cool place and nail polish lasts for years (if not used up) but anything else I would not keep around very long. Stay safe!

Alot of it is just basic common sense... water= bacteria and all. And then I have to ask... how long does a makeup last once opened just for "junk" sake? I mean, you use a lipstick....how long does it take to "use it up" before you get bored with it and toss it in the back of the drawer? I've done things like that and almost always just dump the item...better safe than sorry! Figure if I didn't like it "back then" why would I like it now?!?!?!

I use it and am sure it has expired but have never had any problems with any of my hundreds of beauty products.
When they look like I can no longer use and or recycle it somehow then I have to get rid of it.

its so expensive that i just leave it go as long as possible. the other problem is, i seldom use it. not needing it till just recently. now i usually have to throw it out without much used at all. what a waste.
i never needed it much until i was around 55yrs. then people started saying, you need it now bon. 
there used to be no expiring on it, way back when i was a girl.

i know eye make-up you are supposed to get rid of after a year...Me personally i dont listen and i don't have problems
