Biters or we just think alike?

I notice that when I go on Mylot, sometimes there are some discussions about the same things. Do we just think the same types of things or are there people copying questions. There have been times when I've started a discussion and noticed that there already was one started similar to what i've wrote. This also goes with trends in society.. why is it that we can agree on the same trends depending on that time or are we just... getting influenced really easily?

My discussions are often triggered by the news of the day. If this is what I am using I try to approach it from a different point of view. Most of mine get through but once in a while my discussion is to much like another and I get the delete button from mylot.

I would say both. That's what happened to me too. I had this idea in my mind and planning to start a few days later, but the moment I refresh the page, a similar discussion appeared right there. That should be concidental because I dont even know the other mylotter. While there are also copiers in mylot, alot of them, whom simply copy and paste the entire discussion. Now, that's not a right thing to do. Even if they are lazy to think of any for themselves, they should have the courtesy to change some of the content than to copy blindly and got caught.

Here on mylot, i think it's just coincidence. There are really too many discussions here that there are discussions that are bound to be similar. It's not like they're copying it or something. It's just that they've thought of it as well.

I sometimes notice this too. When I start a discussion, I usually don't browse around to see if the discussion has been recently created but if it has than it's a coincidence but sometimes it could be that someone's copying you. I found out my discussion quotes on myLot was copied from a member on myLot and pasted onto another forum site TDD word for word. The guy didn't copy the discussion and post it back on myLot but to another site. Kind of stupid but it happens. I don't see the point to copy discussion questions especially word for word for a few cents. Anyway, there are a lot of unreal people - can't do much about it.

People want to believe that they are completely different from the other, but we really are not that different. We share some of the same fears, the same wants, the same needs. We are cut from the same fabric. It's the subtle differences that make us unique. If there are millions of comments and discussion on this site, there are bound to be some repeat topics. I think it is kind of cool to see the different perspectives of the same topic.
