Although when I was in Dubai we tend to rent a cab or hitch a ride with friends , we also did experience riding the buses in Dubai going to Mall of Emirates or to Jumeirah. What I really don't like about it is the smell!!! Specially when its winter when SOME of the people who rides the buses tend to NOT TAKE A BATHE because they say that its cold and they do not have time to heat water... I mean come on... If you can't take a bathe at least make sure to change your socks or clothes right before going to work cause the bus really smells like FEET or SOCKS that were already worn for a few times. After experiencing this horrific event I have sworn to myself that when I come back to Dubai, I know already how to drive and will take the Driving Test immediately to get my own car... Seriously guys it really made me throw up... Awful!!!

I've never been to Dubai, but when I was seventeen years old I had the opportunity to travel to Paris, France and we used the subway system quite a bit while we were there. It was not an experience that I would like to do again in my life because of the fact that there were a lot of people that didn't seem to think that bathing was as important to them as it is to me. I really don't like the smell of dirty people and what I remember the most is the smell of underarms without deodorent.

lol good thinking, I am also excited to take my driving test next year. I can't wait to leave my horrible bus mates in the bus stop next year :)

Really? If i were u, i would have gotten off the bus and take a cab instead. There's no way i can take a bus with all those smell around me. Though the smell doesn't come from it, but i'm scared that it will stick on me, making me seem like the one whom smelled! I just don't understand why people can be so unhygienic. Don't they have any sense of courteousy to others?

This is so funny yet so true! I have experienced the same thing when I went to dubai. There are lucky days when the bus is not full so since i'm a lady i'm allowed to sit in the front seats away from stinky men. But during rush hours you'll have no choice but to encounter diffrent odors from smell of a week old socks, body odor from the armpit and even halitosis (bad breath) from yawning people. Oh what an experience. Its true that even if you cover your nose, you can still smell it. What i do is cover my nose with my handkerchief drenched in cologne or perfume or sometimes i use eucalyptus scent or vapor rubs just to mask the stinky odor. I just could not imagine how people stand their own smell. Oh! I would never forget dubai because of this. I would recommend people to take the driving test and drive your own car but one issue you'll encounter would be the traffic. Good thing theres dubai metro now. But im not sure if the experience would be the same as riding the bus.
