It's been fun and it's been time consuming to work there. Lots of over time hours (this weekend i worked as well) to get the projects done, but the feeling that you are part of something important is one that you don't get in many work places. Starting monday, i will have more time on my hands, to concentrate on finishing my master degree, and why not admit it, come here at mylot and get back on track with all my friends that i missed during my work period of 9 months. Financially speaking, i will get my last paycheck at the end of november, and it is a little over a regular month salary even if i finished at the middle of the month, because of all the extra hours of over time and of my almost 5 holiday days not taken - i admit i worked hard for this reason as well, i wanted to be money safe until the end of the year. I have accomplished many objectives here: - with the other 3.5 months i worked as a cashier, summed up with this 9 months, i went over the 1 year work time - i manage to save up a lot of money, at least a lot compared to what i usually gathered when i was unemployed - i now have a very good reference from my lead at the final project due to my very good behavior at this work job ( i extended my contract in October for another month for the purpose of finishing this project, so this was taken really good with my boss). - i managed to finish my Human Resources during my work months, with a perfect 10. This is getting to be a page blog at the rate i am going, so i will wrap things up and ask some questions for your pleasure of answering in case you read all this discussion and found nothing to comment upon: 1) Have you ever worked at a job that really made you feel that you are part of something important, something that will mark other people's life ? 2) Have you taken extra paid classes apart from college in order to specialize in other fields of work ?

Cool, a summary of your year.^_^ I have actually worked at something for the benefit of other people. Most jobs with that kind of fulfillment does come from those volunteer centers. That's how I feel anyway. I volunteered at a housing project while in college and we also immersed ourselves in their lives for three days. We got to experience how their life was like and it was totally the flip side of the coin as compared to our lives. Life there was filled with simple pleasures, and that's what I missed most about it.^_^ As for your second question, your timing in posting this discussion is perfect. I took an entrance exam to a Medical Transcription training program last Friday, and I passed! I had no formal background, especially in the medical aspect, but its just something that I wanted to learn and to do. I took the exam on the last day and so we would already start this Monday(tomorrow). This training program is another one on my plate since I am already taking Japanese classes and helping out my parents in their business, as Ive mentioned before. It's okay though. These programs keep me busy while giving me additional knowledge that I could use in the future. Nice to hear from you again elitess!

You certainly have accomplished a lot and I'm very glad to hear that you saved part of your wages!! Saving money doesn't seem to be a priority for many people and it's a wise person who saves for the future. I have worked at answering services, when there was such a thing, handling calls for doctors mostly. I felt I was doing an important job most of the time. I also enjoyed it when I worked in doctors' offices because I could help people even though I was only an office worker. My most important job was not a money maker--being a mother was and is the best job I ever had!

You are still so young and you sound as though you have a good head on your shoulders and you can see that by looking at your list of accomplishments. I’ve had many jobs in my life but I cannot say that I have had been part of a really worthwhile project that would make a change to others’ lives. I plan on only doing work I am passionate about at this stage of my life and it sounds as though you are doing that already!

I've come across many stray jobs in high school and college, but these didn't have the effect of working at Pepsi. You see, my education at a four year college paved the path for me getting this position, and the job has lived up to my interests. Its worthwhile, and like "elitess" said, I feel like I'm a part of something very special. My role helps me feel important and stand out amongst the crowd of unemployed people. Over the months working there, I find my effort and reward of working their really fantastic. Its not a work place I would forget all of a sudden, because I'm sure that this experience will make me into a really successful person. Down the road, I'm aiming and expecting for a double promotion that will make me more important in my work for Pepsi. The pleasures and perks make my days lively, as I get a lot of work done joyfully. This is a dream come true job for me as it has changed my life in many ways.
