Do you think I should stick with ddr2 ram or buy a new computer with ddr3? Is ddr3 worth it even if you have 4GB of ddr2 800mhz?

I think DDR3 is the best.At 1GB capacity,it performs equals to a 2GB DDR2 and required much less power. My notebook is operating with 4GB of DDR3 and I have no problems regarding the memory and my OS is running faster.Just changed it two months ago.

I didn't know ddr3 had double the power of ddr2. I knew it was more powerful but I didn't expect that it had that much power.

If you can, change them with DDR3 RAMs. They're way faster than DDR2s, like almost two times faster. Plus they consume 30% less energy than DDR2s. So If you have the chance to upgrade to DDR3s, do It!
