I am wondering what sort of discipline you got for your child that he will always listen and follow you. do you think they will still do it when they are grown up already?

There are actually two different modes that I use for disciplining my children. The first thing that I do is that I will give them time out to think about what they've done wrong when they are doing something that is not causing immediate harm to themselves or to others. However, when the children are doing something that is dangerous to themselves or others, I will give them spankings so that the behavior that they are taking part in will never happen again. It seems to work very well for us.

lol..spanking is the traditional way to discipline them..I am now starting to discipline him slowly but if I could avoid spanking I will..Trying to explain one at a time of dont's and do. but if spanking is needed I will spank him too! thanks for sharing!

My daughter is now three so it has become easier. I can usually talk to her and it will stop, but there are days the only way I can get through to her is to spank her. Most of the time I just have to tell her if she does it again I will spank her and it stops but not always. I tried time outs and she thought that they were funny she would do her time in the corner or wherever and then go and do it again. I don't think there is any child that will always listen but they do get better when they know that you will follow though and mean business. I hope that my daughter will keep listing to me as she gets older I guess only time will tell. She is very hard headed just like me so we do butt heads from time to time already.
