We just BBQ'd pork chops for dinner on our new propane bbq and gave the dog the bones. He doesn't get many bones from us as I know some of them can be bad for dogs, and I'm wondering how pork chop bones are for dogs. I'm also curious to know about turkey bones. I've heard that they cause cancer in dogs and want to know if this is true. Is it safe for my dog to eat pork chop bones?

ANY BONES R OK FOR DOGS, RAW ONLY. To much pork for dogs is no good . Hard to digest. It doesn't break down in their system like other meats.. Cooked bones are to brittle, splinter cause bones to act like needles. Very bad

It is not advisable to feed dogs with bones regardless if they have splinter or not. The poor dog's teeth might break when they try to chew the bones. If not, there is the risk of them choking as some dogs are known to swallow the food very quickly.

As far as I know, pork bones are okay. Turkey bones and other poultry bones splinter very easily and can damage the mouth and the throat. I never had dogs, but we would give the cats bones from pork chops and from beef, but never poultry or fish.

I would say pork chop bones are ok but (NOT TURKEY or CHICKEN)bones they will make the dog sick and you will have to take the dog to vet because of those bones from the turkey or chicken, cd

I would be very carefull giving dogs pork chop bones. Sometimes they can splinter on the longer side which can stick into the roof of the mouth of your pet. Fowl bones I would never give those to your pet at all. I mainly stick to ham and beef bones.

I believe pork chop bones are okay. but wanted to share that as a child we had a small dog who was fed small turkey bones and they did not digest well and they came out his bottom. This injured his intestines as they are pretty sharp, so please be careful when feeding them to dogs.

My dogs really like munching and sometimes eating meat bones. The bone seemed to be their appetizers. But as much as they like them, I am strict about it. I just let them lick and taste bigger bones that are impossible for them to swallow. They really were so fond of biting its sides, making loud crunches. Whenever I watch them eat like that, It seems that I could not look. I was thinking that their teeth might be broken.
