I have a slight ocd that i believe everybody has, anyway i usually have to stop myself from taking from others what they're doing becausei felt its wrong or its going too slow., which my siblings the advantage of, like in house chores, the works are divided amongst us and they would deliberately, slowthemselves down and d it wrong and even when i know what they're doing i can't stop myself and do it all by myself than let them. even with school projects and report sometimes, i just want to do what is given to my classmate because i feel like their just ruining it all but i can't since i have to let them grow too. i did it once and my professor, told me to shut up and let my groupmate do it since i have done enough. its so hard.

Hi Peterpan, It's good that at least you see this in yourself. I imagine that your siblings love it that you take over the chores for them but anywhere else it will do nothing but lose you popularity points. I have a brother that is kind of like this. My mom once got a note home from the school that read, " Your son is a natural born leader. Unfortunately the other kids are not ready to be led." There was more to the note which I don't remember but it basically informed her that he wann't playing well with the other kids.

I kind of know what you mean. Happily I never had too many group projects in school. now, cleaning, that was never a problem, since I hate to do it, I could goof off with the best of them!

Peterpancomplex, I have the same issues, too, but probably not as much as you. I constantly want things to be perfect, but it has become a problem. I have had OCD since I was younger. When I was younger, during my bedtime, I would walk around my room in the dark, picking up pieces of paper and grit, but I hated it so much. I would also have to push my drawers in, even if they're closed, every time I went to bed. Now, I have applied my OCD to my schoolwork. I'm on my school's debate team, and I did public forum debate for a while, which required a partner. Every time we debated, I would write out everything she had to say, even when she had different opinions on the matter, I still made her say what I wanted her to say, and she would get upset at me. And every time we did a group project at school, I wouldn't use the things that the other students made, but make my own versions of their parts, ending up making everyone angry. I've been trying to solve my problem, and I'm getting better. Good luck! Annie

I do like to be in control as much as i can. I try not to gp overboard with my contol habits. Some things are better left uncontrolled and just letting them take their own course is best.

I control my freak ability in controlling it! I can control as long as i can afford my mind with new happiness and new love.

Hahaha... Being a control freak is usually seen over a married couple's attitude, mostly on ladies! We're trying to control other people's life to make sure that it will benefit our own agenda, over our husband, right?

I've done simalar things like this at work, then when something goes wrong it ends up being all my fault for not letting others do there part. I have ADD and I have a hard time sraying focused on what I'm doing at times. I guess you just have to learn patients and remember that your part of a team, and you have to let the other members do their part or they will never learn. Good luck, Tianna

I recognize some of the things that you write about like the school projects. My perfectionism was sometimes a challenge when I was working in a group. Sometimes the other members of the group made many mistakes, because they wanted to finish quickly, and I wanted to do the it properly and get a good grade. But when you are working in a group you can't make all the decisions on your own and you have to accept that there are other ways of doing it than you own, and that was a challenge for me. Sometimes I had the opposite problem, because one of my best friends was even more perfectionistic than me, and she wanted to spend many, many hours on the projects in order to get everything perfect. When we were working together it always took very, very long time to finish a project.

I'm not that of a control freak. I only get tight when i'm supposed to do a lot of things like chores and appointments and deadlines. I list all of them from the highly prioritized to the lowest. That way they'll be more organized.

I'm a bit of an OCD too, but not that much, I don't end up doing other people's work because I'm too cooped up with my own work...LOL, I confess of being too much of a perfectionist with my work!
