dry herbs

In our country we don't really put dry herbs in our cooking. Just the normal onion, garlic, tomatoes, salt and pepper for seasoning and the main ingredients. When I was sauteing the shrimp I try to put some dried basil leaves and some parmejano cheese since we have stock. And I really liked the taste of it. From then on I'm interested in knowing some other herbs that could make my food taste delicious. But I don't know the taste of those herbs. Can you share me your favorite herbs and the dishes where you use it? thanks!

I like using parsley in just about anything. I also like using onion, garlic, paprika, curry, and I also like using chives. I love cooking and love trying new recipes!

Basil is supposed to be good with anything that has tomato in it. I use dill, it is good with fish, so is lemon. I put garlic and onions in almost anything. Red meats, and salmon are good with rosemary. Parsley is good in creamy soups and sauces. I hope this gives you some ideas. It is good if you try herbs and spices in a dish at a restaurant or someplace before you buy them as they are expensive. Anything you want to have a reddish color and lightly spiced flavor try paprika. Golden color comes from turmeric, and it is a bitter spice. Have fun learning about cooking.
