Even though I hate my part time job, I still have to suck up with it

I guess not many people actually like what they are working right now. I have the same mentality. Not with my full - time job that I have beef with; I just have complaint on my part - time job. The manager just outright insane. She only paid me a little amount of money, and expect me to do everything. Even her work, I have to do it for her. How much she gave me, not much. That is a restaurant job, and from answering the phone, to serving the customers. I have to do it all. I want to scream foul words to that lady manager, but when I think about, I still need that money. So, I have to suck it up, and keep my grudge down. How brutal is it to work for money, and losing all my pride at once.

You nailed it. I don't think flipping on the manager would do you any good. Doing your best while you are at the job even when the authority is unreasonable is usually the best thing but I'd probably be looking for something to replace your second job at some point so that you can hopefully end up in a place that is more pleasant in general. From what i've seen 2nd jobs are sometimes more difficult than the primary because they are often entry level where you work the hardest for the least reward...monetarily at least. I need to replace a second job that I lost and i've been having trouble finding something that is worth all of the time away from my family. It's a necessity but an extra 600 dollars a month isn't worth all the extra time away from my wife & kids. It used to be an extra 750 a month but only took a few hours at night a couple days a week so it was totally worth it. It was a salary but it came out to around 30 something dollars an hour. I couldn't complain at all...plus i loved it. wished it was my main source of income. Best I can find at the moment is like 10 bucks an hour, 20 hours a week (on top of the 40 to 60 I work consistently at my regular job)...so about 800. I need the money but I can't justify the cost in family time. I wish you the best...whether it's find something better or your situation improving at that job.

If your boss came to you and told you that you were going to work an extra 10 to 20 hours a week, you were not going to get any extra pay, and the extra duties were not going to be what you were always doing, but that if you stuck with it for 2 YEARS you could retire AT FULL PAY, but if you quit doing it before the 2 years were up the offer was taken away. WOULD YOU TAKE THAT OFFER? What if I could show you how to do just that? Right now? If you would like more information you could PM me here. If you would rather use E-Mail: beayaich@yahoo.com

Wow, you made more money on your part - time job than I do. I don't make much, honestly. It is a Thai restaurant, and they pretty much pay me very cheap. What they expect? They want me to work the hardest, and they want me to work free like that? I won't do that.

Yea. I guess you don't have to stick with that part time job. I f you think you are losing as well your pride... you can always find a new part time job which is definitely more pleasant as other have said...It is good working where your heart is...

That sounds like my part time job My manager expects me to do everything even his work sometimes. He is very forgetful and absent minded and I sometimes I get the impression that he expects me to read his mind. He tells me off because he thinks I forgot to do the things he told me, but the truth is he never told me, he just doesn't remember. He also breaks his promises very often, he says one thing and does another. Sometimes it is very tempting to tell him my honest opinion about his behavior, but that would mean no part time job and no extra money, so I try to control myself!

I'm sorry. I actually kind of enjoy my part-time/full-time job (varies by week, this week it's full-time lol) and I'm on good terms with management and don't have a DIRECT supervisor watching over me. I'm lucky in that sense. I guess the only thing I can hope is that you either find something better, where you are more appreciated and less taken for granted, or if your immediate boss gets fired. Good things do happen..So, stay positive!

Hi, kingparker, I think I've got the similar experience as yours. I don't like my job either, not because it is kind of dull, it's really because I am expected to do everything, and I only get a small amount of salary. What can I do? I have to try my best at work, after all, it is the only one I've got, and as you said, I need the money. However, I try to find myself another job to improve the situation. Maybe you can also switch a part-time job. Good luck!

A lot of people have jobs that they really don't care about. They ould rather be doing something else instead. Sometimes our financial situations keep us in jobs we don't want to do. When we are faced with these kinds of situations, we don't have any choice but to stick with it.

I've experienced that with my boss and it ruined my relationship with the company I am working with. I used to be super efficient with my work and I never expected anything in return. After my boss blamed me for something I didn't do that changed my work ethic in his company. Although I still work for the guy I no longer do my best for his company. I only work and finish the projects he gives me at a regular pace. I also don't mind anything he does or say since I no longer care about him and his company. As long as he pays me to work I really don care what he does with his life.
