we have parol in our house, we put it september 1, with the help of my mom and my niece and nephew. and it's our old parol, but we also buy a new one which we put it in our terrace. you can feel the christmas if a parol is hanging in you house.

September 1? Isn't that a bit too early to be hanging a parol?

Well, I never obsessed with decoration at any time of the year and Christmas is no different. However, I conceded with the idea of having a parol inside the house rather than the usual parol outside to make the meaning of the parol more closer to the family. Our parol is simple but we decided to keep it inside so that the light that the parol symbolizes is more applied to our family and our members that needs guidance in their lives.

We never had a parol in our house. We never got into the habit of it. I do like parols, especially the creative ones, but we decorate our house the same way every year. hehe.

I think hanging a parol is still very important because it is uniquely Filipino and sets us apart as a people. If we adopted other foreign traditions like Christmas trees , Santa and lights,I just wonder how we can forget and do away with something that is uniquely ours (maybe other countries should adopt the parol),It's so beautiful! The best place to buy one is in Pampanga, mine is constructed using capiz shells, although a little bit expensive, it's worth your money in the long run if you know how to take care of it,I also think of jobs we give to Filipinos whenever we buy a parol, been using mine for four years now , I also hang it so the children will continue the tradition

hi majody83, Yes we have parol and many lights and decorations in our house to feel the spirit and essence of Christmas. As we all know Christmas is the celebration of the birth of our lord Jesus Christ. And as Filipinos it's tradition to us to have parols in our house.
