Hi, In recently two years, Barcelona acquired unprecedentedsix-time winner, became more and more success, and currently is on the top of soccer world. And a question subsequently arises. Who can chellenge her status? Actually, Chelsea the most possible one in my mind. You may know that Barcelona was famous with her most brillant and creative middle field, which included Xavi, Iniesta. So if you want to defeat Barcelona, you must make a balance confront on middle field. It is unrealistic for any teams, of course including another controlling team Arsenal to control the middle field by pure skill on the match against with Barcelona. Additionally, most skillful players do not like the strong player. So if you won Barcelona, you must have a very tough middle field. And Chelsea middle field is the most tough and fortitude. But currently, Chelsea have a lot problems need to be resolved. And I do not think Chelsea can win Barcelona currently. So which team can challenge Barcelona? Look forward to your opinion.

After the hammering that Barcelona gave Real, it is really tough to see who will take them on. I saw the highlights of the match and they really tore Real apart with their pace and passes!! I would love to see Arsenal vs. Barcelona part II. Last year, Guardiola's men made Arsene's squad look like boys. I cannot forget the first 15 minutes of the game when Barcelona tore Arsenal apart. Chelsea looks wobbly at this moment and AC Milan still has a long way to establish themselves back on the big stage. Real will take a lot of effort to get over the mauling that they have recently had at the hands of Barcelona. Inter seems to have gone backwards under Rafael Benitez. So I think probably Man U or Arsenal might be the best bet to take on Barcelona!! Cheers! Ram

Hi ram-cv, It seems that we have similar opinion on the question. I also look forward to the part II collision between Arsenal vs Barcelona, as they are the representive of the technology soccer. I think that we both want to know which team can control the middle field. Turn to other teams. Just like said, they all have some problems. As to Man U, i think he is weaker than before. You may know that in the recent two seasons, Man U did not transfer in some valuable players after C Ronaerdo transfor to Real M and Tevez transfer to Man City, and in this season Rooney still recover back his statue completely. In a word, just like you said, probabaly Man U or Arsenal might be the best bet. Additionally, i also Real M may also have a chance although he just lose the game against Barcelona, as I trust Mourionho

On its day, Barcelona is almost peerless. But it is not to be said that they can't be beaten. Inter Milan did it last season. As for the current crop in the Champions League, my gut feel is that only Real Madrid is capable of stopping them but they just got hammered 5-0 in the latest edition of the El Classico.

It is to be noted that Barcelona were defeated last season in Champions league by Inter.. Any team has the chance to beat them, it's just the little mistakes the opponents are making when they are playing against Barca.. This time Manchester united has to take their revenge for the loss of their champions league title 2008-2009 against Barca.. Iniesta and Xavi can be controlled by their own mates Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos.. If else Fabregas can control both of them.. It's the field of pressure in which the players are opposing their opponents !!!

Hi there, Yes, you are right. If you take care of the fortunity, every team have a chance to win Barcelona. In the last seaon, Barcelona was defeated by Inter. It is ture. BUt i do not think, Inter can win again if they have a chance to confront with each other in this season. You may know that, Inter also face a lot problems and Inter probablly can not acquire the Itali league champion this season. You mentioned Man United will take the revenge against Barcelona. Yes, Man United have a chance too, although i think Barcelona have more chance to win the game.

Yes barca is probably the best club in the world right now but they can be beaten i think because when mourinho was the maneger of inter last year they beat barca and won the champions league.Barca is such type of team that they have world's two best midfielders in their side which is a large plus point so they always win the battle in midfield and presence of lionel messi makes it more dangerous for their opponent. But still i think teams like real, manu, chelsea can beat them if their maneger and offcource the players work hard. For me i think if any team can beat them this year its manu because they are showing their resilience this year. This team is soo stubborn that they have been unbeaten in premier league until now! SO that explains they can defend really well. But when they need they go on the counter attack and break teams defences so only they have been soo successful this year.I really wish they are gonna take the revenge of their loss this year!

Like you said, Barcelona can be beaten only if you take out Xavi and Iniesta. But I don't see any team in this moment who can knock out Barcelona from Champions League. I would like to see Bayern winning the Champions League, but I think that Barcelona is far to good, comparing to any other team. In my opinion Barcelona can be knocked out if Xavi and Iniesta will be injured at the same time. But it is unlikely.

I believe the best bet to win against Barcelona would be playing "catenacchio", this is defending with many man and then launch a counter-attack. I don't know which team can do this the best as most of the teams don't have a particulary sturdy defense. But, all in all, if I have to choose one team to beat Barca, I would say Manchester United, as I think they exploit the counter attack increadibly well and have a good defense.
