Some of the best music in the modern era has been R&B and Rock. Earth, Wind, and Fire, Led Zepplin, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Pat Benatar, Steely Dan and on and on have create music for the ages. Will the music of the 70's ever be matched? I think not.

Ya(not Yo), peace man, let's rock and roll! Was strumming "A Horse with no name" and my youngest son who is in kindergarten knew the song, it was a background on one of his computer games

that's kewl dude. my kids know more about 70's music than today's music, because that's all I played when they were growing up.

Probably not... they were probably able to experiment and create from every angle then... now, people are just running out of ideas.

That's true. Everything is about fame nowadays... nobody cares about the music nor the instruments... it's sad, there's no love in the work.

the artists back then appreciated music. most, even the singers were musicians in their own right, therefore making it easy to create fresh music. also real instruments and not sequencers were used then, as the musicians contributed to the musical arrangements. it would be nice if better talent were available today.
