Do you think being too honest is a bad thing or can be a bad thing in the long run?

No I don't think honesty is a bad thing. I think someimes we can be too honest. In those cases sometimes a white lie is morally ok to keep from hurting someones feelings. I was always taught if you don't have something nice to say keep your mouth shut.

Yes, sometimes honesty can be bad. If your feelings get hurt and you want to lash out at that person, you can say something that you should not have said. Then, once it is said, you can not take it back. You can say you are sorry, but you can't take it back. You were honest...but harsh. So in that way, honesty can be bad. Because tact is what should have been used if you wanted to be honest...not anger.

honesty is always good, it's just that sometimes in order not to hurt other people, we need to keep our mouths shut. i used to ask people "are you sure you wanna know?" before answering a question which answer would definitely hurt them. it's hard sometimes when people know you can't/won't lie, the more they'll ask you questions, hehe.

No, I do not believe it is ever a bad thing to be honest, though it can be a very bad thing to be undiplomatic or blunt. :-)

baby - baby
It could be like when your husband asks if he's going bald. He doesn't want to hear you say yes even if he is. Or when your wife asks if she is fat. She doesn't want to hear you say she is. And when your children asks if the picture they color is pretty but all it is is scribble. Of course you say yes it's beautiful. What would they say or think if you told them no it's horrible?

Depends on the situation. Some people are too bluntly honest, like telling someone that they are ugly or something along those lines. Otherwise, honesty is always the best route!
