When you are looking to lose weight do you go on a diet? You most likely do. But instead look at is as a lifestyle change. Maybe thats why most fail on "diets" because they feel like its a chore. instead start slow. cut out soda one week. then cut out fried foods the next. or try cutting out one thing a month. What will you cut out this month?

well said! Sporadic dieting without lifestyle changes will never work. Some do get fooled by short term results. As pointed out by you, aerated beverages are the biggest culprits as far as calorie intake is concerned. But drinking water once every hour is a fantastic natural way of loosing weight. One could also look at changing their hot beverage to green tea. Even lack of sleep can lead to weight gain. Healthy eating + healthy living = ideal weight

Absolutely one must make a full lifestyle change in order for diets to be successful. I am a very healthy eater and am very disciplined with my exercising.. So I won't be actually cutting anything out per say as I will continue maintaining my high metabolism with my routine exercising. See I already cut out a great deal of things in my life. I eat 4 - 5 times a day, I illuminated certain things so that I can eat great during special events. Good luck to us and happy, healthy eating to all.

This month I'm not 'cutting out' anything, but cutting down on soda & junk food. Not necessarily because I want to lose weight, but just because I don't like how it makes me feel after eating it - bloated and just yucky. I agree with you though, as I heard somewhere that 90% of diets fail - or they succeed in making you lose weight, but you gain it right back when you're diet is "done" because you dont' follow what you learned in your temporary "diet".
