Onion Prices, causing tears in our eyes because of Export.

Onion Prices - helpless
India

Hi friends, I guess you are aware about the onion crisis in India which is caused by Export. Our agriculture minister did not think about domestic consuption and export was not stopped. We used to export Onion to our neighboring countries and now a days it has changed, just opposite. We are importing onion from Pakistan. Onion prices are all time high and one has to spend 60-100 rupee to get 1 kg. Prices are different in every city but not less anywhere, it's above 50. 300% price rise in onion from last 3 month. Who will justify that? In 3 Idiots movie there is a dialogue " wo din door nahi jab paneer sonar ki dukan me choti choti packets me milega". we were laughing on the above lines but that is coming true in case of Onion. One who used to buy 1 kg is buying just 250 grams. It is becoming tough to manage these things oin life, our earning is not increasing with the same rate as these Commodities. Your thoughts? Thank You.

onion is so costly these days. But you have no other option than buying it. Its better than eating tasteless food. So keep shedding tears while buying and also while chopping. Govt. should take proper measure to check this price hike. Hopeless. :'(

Hi Ajay, I agree with you that ONION PRICES cause tears in our eyes. One kilogram costs between 80-100 rupees in my city."ONIONS" are very essential for man's dishes that he eats.Without ONIONS we cannot eat our favorite dishes. As most of the dishes can be prepared only by using ONIONS.The Government had ensured that the ONION prices will lowered down within 15th of January .Since the price of commodities increases it will be very tough for the poor farmers due to the rise in price of ONIONS.Even the middle class persons will find it difficult to manage their life due to rise in price of ONIONS.Even the rich persons cannot eat ONION DOSA if it is their favorite dish since all the hotels have stopped making this dish due to the rise in proce of ONIONS. Have a happy day

Onion is part of most of the dishes that we consume everyday and without it taste would not be good at all. I heard Banglore served Onion Dosa without onion for one day. Govt should take action on black marketing so that next time we do not see similar situation for anything. Thank you for sharing.

Have a happy day.

The food inflation today crossed the double digit mark and yet the government has not taken enough steps to curb this ever rising food inflation. The prime reason could be the increase in hoarding of all the food commodities and this has caused the increase in food inflation and as a result of which everybody specially the middle and lower middle class are suffering to meet their both ends.

I believe that govt is the reason for all these price rise, they are not acting hard on Black Marketing. They can impose good policies to handle situation like this but they are not doing so. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Ajay i agree with you. ONION price are increasing day by day. but it is not only with onion but every thing from eatables to properties, gold, domestics increasing in price. government is not much active on issues of common man but engaged in their own issues related to 3G-scams and many more. common man can only suffer until he does not unite against government's policies. but it is not easy task. true leaders are required for this Herculie task. sometimes natural causes also affects prices of goods. this time onions are forcing common men to take out water from their eyes.

Yes, onion has become a topic of discussion because of rising prices and as you said other vegatables are also high on price. Govt is busy in planning to save the ministers and other people from SCAMs, so they got little time to do their duties now a days. Thank You for sharing.
