Regular consumption of any food is good until you over do it. Then the problems start. Chili can cause acidity and other gastric problems. Pickles for instance is bad if eaten regularly Once in a while is okay. So ease up and be healthy.

I am also a chili lover. Often, there is always chili on my food or on my sauces. I have read that chili contains some things that are beneficial to health. Although some people really do not like it, but in my case, I always look for chili and add chili to my foods when I eat. Its like an appetizer for me.

I think it's good for you. I can't see why it wouldn't be. I make chilli all the time in the winter (although I haven't this winter - YET!) and it's mainly just beans, tomatoes, and other veggies when I make it (I don't put meat in it, I don't eat it). I can't imagine you should have any problems if you consume too much of it.

Everything should be taken in moderation. Too much of anything is not good for your health. I think acidity is one problem and your body will adjust itself to you eating habits.

You know, I think it depends on the status of your health. In general, Chilli is good for you because hot peppers and spicy things can help raise your metabolism and also help lower blood pressure. There are many antioxidants in chili peppers, so your health can be improved by this. However, it depends also on how you prepare it. If you eat "American" chilli, made with ground beef and beans usually, it can be very fattening and not so good for you. However, the beans make for a lot of fiber and nutrients and that is good for you. The only problem someone might have with chilli is if they have a sensitive stomach. If your stomach gets irritated easily, chilli may give you heartburn or irritate your stomach. In that case, it would be better to stick to milder foods. Spicy foods are not always easy to digest, so if you have any problems like that, avoid chilli. However, chili peppers can also help kill bacteria in your gut, so it can also improve digestion in certain ways.

Of course, everything in moderation, yes chili is very good for us. It is even healthier for us when we make it with a leaner cut of ground beef or even ground turkey. The beans themselves are loaded with both fiber and protein. You could even make it without meat and it would still be healthy, because of all the vitamins/minerals (iron mostly) in chili beans. Hmmmm, now I am wanting some chili...maybe tomorrow :)

We eat chili only once a year because it's expensive to make, but if you use fresh veggies and not canned veggies, as well as dried beans, consume on a regular basis, then you shoud be fine, it's quite healthy, in fact. Too much chili made from canned ingredients will cause you to have too much sodium in your diet. I always put in fresh green peppers and onions in mine :-)
