do you think the u s gov has a right to keep secrets from the people?

Yes and no, no I dont think things should be kept from the united states people but at the same time if its something that puts our brave men and women of the military in danger then yes. Its a catch 22 though and you know the government will never let us know what all is going on and there will always be secrets. No matter what.

i agree with the yes and no answer somethings need to be kept quite like when it has to do with military strikes and plans but no when it has to do with congress voting them selves a raise in the middle of the night because of inflation when just 2 weeks earlier they said there was no inflation and voted not to give vets ans social sec. raises.

Thats exactly right, in fact I believe the power to give themselves raises needs to be taken out of their hands and put in the hands of the american people. And I also agree about vets, we as a country need to do a better job taking care of our veterans, its sickening to me that we have homeless vets but we can send millions to other countries to help the poor.

my husband is a disabled vet in the line of duty and we still had to fight for 2 years to get his benefits. he still doesn't talk about it cause he says that some things need to be quite about and he had an oath to keep secrets of things that may put peeps in harms way. vets should get what they promise them with out having to fight for it in court. my hubby says all polititons should have to work for minium wage to see what it is really like to try to support a family on nothing.

I think so.. The government has the right to keep some things secret, if it is for the benefit of all. But they have no right to lie to us. 
And in time, they should let us now about those secrets, because sooner or later, people are gonna know about it- nothing stay secret..

I agree that certain things should be kept secret but i think more transparency would do our government good.

Unless you want to see more bullets in soldiers heads, or more assassinations of politicians, then yes, there are legitimate reasons to keep some information from the public.

i agree i think the people want to feel safe but the way we keep them safe should be kept quite.
