Hi All, The problems for Arsenal continue to mount. In another setback to the Gunners, it was reported that the Belgium centre back who is a key to the Gunners backline will be out for another month.Earlier, Wenger had expected him to be back in Jan. But this news comes out as another blow as Arsenal continue to struggle with their defence problems. The loss against bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspurs has already added insult to the Gunners fans, while the recent loss to title rivals, Manchester United piles up the agony. Looks like another trophy less season for Arsenal.

Yes, it is a big blow for Arsene Wenger. Remember not only is Vermaelen good in defense, he gets crucial goals at the other end as well. His heading prowess is also good both in attack and defense. I think Arsenal will have to endure another season without a title this year. Cheers! Ram

No worries. Arsenal is said to buy Vertonghen who is also playing for Ajax just like Vermaelen did.

I would not say this is a setback. From the latest news, Wenger has stated that it is the lack of fitness that is causing the delay. It is not a recurrence of the injury that kept him out for so long.
