Actually, this is a discussion between a friend and me. Having seven or eight years work experience, he works in a famous corporation as a senior manager. I have to say, he is really successful in career. We had a discussion a few days before, from which, i have learnt his next target is to run his own company. Then i asked him the question:"Will you do philanthropy if you are a successful Entrepreneur?" To my surprised, he answered::"No, unless government reduce tax to me." I was really shocked by his answer and asked a question in reply,"Have you heard any other entrepreneur asked for reducing tax when he had donated money to the poor? Or Bill Gates asked for reducing tax since he is a really generous philanthropist?" But he replied me calmly, "Please make it clear before you blame me. In fact, in some countries, if the owner of a company made donation, he have the right to pay less tax. For example, he should pay 20 million dollars tax, if he had made donation of 10 million, he only need to pay 10 million dollars. That's why they don't mind to do philanthropy(Not because they are merciful so that to do philanthropy). On the contrary, our government will not, so i will not do philanthropy." He made it seems reaonable. In my opinion, i don't mind whether government reduce tax or not. If possible, I'd like to help the poor. Help but ask for nothing is human being's highest kind. I hope i have the ability to support myself as well as help others. Furthermore, we live in a whole environment, what you have done will affect others as well as yourself. Please share with me your idea. And is it true that some countries reduce tax for the entrepreneur who has made donation?

Sure I will do it. Tax deduction or not doesn't matter. If it does, then that wouldn't really be as good as it seems, right? I mean, why would you help the poor just to evade to pay tax?!

Thanks for your comment damned_dle, yes, i agree with you. on the other hand, we can view it in this way, the taxation are used to help the poor. Government reducing tax means to encourage the entrepreneurs to make donation, right? hehe, i think it is also a smart way for hte entrepreneurs to help the poor. Wish we have more and more philanthropists in the world, and hope everyone can do what he/she could to help others! Cheers!

Indeed, we are meant to make a difference in this world other than just for ourselves. The more successful I am, the more I will do. I will even do something if I'm not a successful entrepreneur. A little from a lot of people often adds up more than a lot from few.
