hello friends :) Its already completed one year in rented flat and now its time for shifting. I have to pack all my luggage for that. I hate it. But i have to. Now when i was packing my bag i couldn't pack all my clothes in it. So i asked for small bag to my Aunt. But she told me that packing bags is an art and she can put all of them in my one bag. And She done it too. Wow... Well.. I guess i am not that expert in this work. How about you ?? Do you know this art ??

hi akp I have moved so many times in my life I have bag packing down to a science. You fold and flatten so you do not waste space and put things like undies and socks in pockets. YOU would be surprised at how much you'can get in one vbad with the right kind of packing.

Yes it is all depend on the way we pack our luggage. And I am weak in that so much as i am weak in folding my clothes efficiently . So thats why I can't adjust my all of stuff in one bag properly. But yeah if we follow the right way we can pack lots of thing in one.

I try to but like you I can't do it so well yet! I do try to learn a little every time I see some one do it. Like your aunt, my friend carries juts one backpack every time we travel, I am really amazed at how this is done!

Hello Anand, I think I should join as a trainee under your Aunt. I heard the term ‘art of packing’ for the first time now. She is really an expert. Shifting the house is really a headache; we shifted our house in October only. You are right there is no other option but to do packing the things until you purchase your own house. Let us dream for that.

Hi Akp, After changing over three places in last 4 years I have got some real hand experience in this one no doubt. But when I ws younger, I knew that this is something that I cannot handle on my own. I remember my mom used to help me out when I was to go to the hostel. But when returning from hostel, it was just me. I had to carry more than one of those bags just because I could not stuff everything in an arranged way. So where are you relocating to? A new Apartment or a Flat? And when? The New year is around and I dont want to miss the party

Hi Sid Well Thats good that you have learned it with your experience and you are expert now; And hope I will do good in future.. But currently no hopes.. Well its not far away from current location. Just in near apartment here. You can come any time.. By the way whats the difference between Apartment and Flat ???

Locally here - we refer to the multi-storey buildings as apartments and the single floor houses as flats - this is not as per American or Western standards but people around have been using these words.

I find the best way is to roll things up, and take advantage of the full bag, sometimes there is some space left in the corners so roll or fold some smaller things to make them fit in the space. Make sure you use all the space inside the little pockets as well, underwear can be rolled or folded up to fit into the smallest of spaces! You can also roll up things to fit inside shoes as well if you have them in your bag, and make sure you keep out your thickest coats as you can just wear them instead of packing! I used to move around a lot as part of my job so got used to packing every couple of months! Although sometimes I did need to repack everything, sometimes it takes another go to get it right!

Thats the difference between me and you then, I dont care about creases lol! I just hang them up and iron as needed! Good luck with the packing!

i too use this technique but only to undies since i don't want to put crease on my ironed clothes. after putting all the clothes, those rolled up undies and socks will go on the corners and will fill up little empty spaces.

I am excellent at packing as the girl scout in me takes full control. The art of it is to roll everything instead of folding items as rolling the clothing saves a great deal of space. I have shown many how to do this and all have become happy campers.
