Most of us are have facebook accounts. Or maybe all of us have facebook accounts. Twitter maybe. Tumblr, Foursquare, etc. When the age of social networking boomed, it was like a paradigm, a life changing event. I know for a fact that when I started with facebook, I would literally not study and just dedicate my time in exploring all the cool applications, games, and reading my friends' profile pages. When I had a twitter account, I got so addicted that I post everything I do in my status, including what I am currently eating. I also have a foursquare account and a tumblr account. It's very time consuming to update each and every social network I have but I still do. It has brought old friends back, made me meet new friends, and just about learn anything under the sun. How has your social network changed you?

I think the social network has made us more lazy as well as more productive. I remember tweet ing my class schedual every day of the semester. and at foursquare checking in everyware I go. Ok I still do that when I travel but yeah it works. The social networking has also had me find old friends who i have not talked to iin years. lol!

Same here! I have reconnected with old friends, especially those who moved and migrated elsewhere. I also check-in at foursquare every time I change my location.

I was not email savvy for sometime and after I started it, I cannot leave now. Its very difficult to stay without internet. I remember when I was young, using computer itself was a dream and now even a small kid is so savvy using both.

I would have to say that social networking has definitely changed people. There are a lot of people that are way more talkative and active on these virtual interaction inter phases then they ever are in real life. A lot of people only rely on social networking to be able to communicate with their friends and obviously if you are doing that, interaction face to face is much much different. I've never really got into social networking unless you count mylot, because it's just kind of weird to me. I have a hard time coming up with things to say to people in real life and I find it even harder to try to come up with something to say while only staring at pictures of people or text that they recently typed. It's a lifeless and emotionless way of communicating in my opinion, leaving you feeling like you've interacted but you haven't truly experienced each other.

I don't really use Facebook. But I do use Mylot a lot now. It really is a nice way to communicate with people from all over the world on all kinds of different topics. My brother has a Facebook account and he has met up with a bunch of friends online that he used to go to school with from a long time ago.

Well it is interesting because I feel both good and bad things have happened due to the use of social pages. For one thing I have reconnected with people we had lost contact with for years, that is nice, but some of my better relationships have had an adverse affect. It is easy to shoot a question or post something quick to a friend instead of calling and I found that I miss the little chit chat and side conversations I would have had if I had just called that person or persons. We know more about stupid little things like what movie character are you and yet less about the persons really. I do not post what coffee I am drinking and what not but I do check my page several times a day and find it is a bit of an addiction yet if I don't I am out of the loop many times and when I do speak to someone they ask didn't I see their post or what not. I am not sure it is a good thing but it is here to stay for now.
