Do you think webdesign has a fair price?

Do you think it's fair to pay for a website 200 dolars or more? There are also webmasters that their fees are 1000.

It very much depends on what you want the website for, whether you just want a single page or more than one and what after-care you need or expect. If I just wanted a personal site with, maybe a photo gallery and expected to look after and maintain the site myself, then I'd probably think it too expensive to pay someone to do it for me. If I wanted a professional looking, site in order to sell or promote something, it could be well worth my while, especially as most sites need some after care and tweaking, which I would expect to be done for free as part of the deal. You pay for what you get, by and large. Web designers can easily expect $20 an hour (or much more) for their time alone; if they also need expensive tools like Dreamweaver, those have to be paid for (by them), as do all their overheads (if they are freelance) like office space, computers and Internet connection, heating and lighting, insurance (including their own health insurance). Running a business is not cheap, as you will find out if you come to try, and all the expenses must be paid for in the fees charged or the business will fold.
