I am sure that if, lets say, Sen. Boxer went to a school and started talking to children about being pro-choice when it comes to the topic of abortion, the entire mylot right would be in an uproar. Well we have Congressmen Steve King, Republican from Iowa, doing the same thing except he goes around talking about being pro-life to school children as young as kindergarten. Going back to my example of Sen. Boxer, she would be excused of attempting to indoctrinate. Of course during this interview Congressmen King displays his ignorance when he said the following, "You cannot take a chance with life anymore than you can shoot a gun into a crowded room and take a chance that you might not kill somebody," he said. "You cannot guess about when life begins. You have to pick an instant." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/03/steve-king-abortion_n_803694.html

I am a primary school teacher for children of 5 to 7 years old. I wouldn't ever discuss the topic of abortion with that age range because they are far too young. if discussing a baby we might cut out of the things a baby needs from an old magazine and stick these into exercise books. Then they would label cot, bottle, toy and so on. A child of 6 years old might see a lady with a bump and be told that lady is going to have a baby. He or she wouldn't understand a talk about not having an abortion. Abortion is sick and it is not right for the ears of young innocent children. The congress man is talking about abortion way too early. Maybe he should begin the talk when these children reach teenage hood.

I have to agree with what laglen said, it would be wrong for Senator Boxer to talk to young children about the abortion issue, regardless of which side she was speaking for and it's also wrong for Congressman King to do so. Geesh, kindergarten kids are much to young to understand the concept of abortion AT ALL, it could be very disturbing and frightening to them. Of course, this doesn't surprise me one bit. King is one of a growing list of far-right Republicans who are ruining their party. Annie

When school teachers can help kids get abortions and don't even have to inform the parents, your assertions are just stupid.
