was watching a program named "into the space with Stephen Hawking" on discovery channel.. thought about mylotting the topic.. so what do you guys think about this? is time travel possible? can we race the time and jump into the future? can we go into the past and unfold the mysteries and secrets of the world? can we go back to the time when life started on earth? all these questions are very much valid in this era where science and tech has gone to mars.. though traveling to the past is tricky and almost impossible but at the same time stepping into the future before time is somewhat achievable.. and if we make such a time machine then it will be a great breakthrough in field of science and tech.. what do you think..?

I think it was proved that the relativity theory by Albert Einstein is true although they couldn't prove the part concerning the time travelling.I hope in a couple of decades scientists will invent a rocket faster than the speed of light to prove Einstein's time travelling theory

There are infinite things within the time travel concept which stand out as a paradox. It's very difficult to theorize exactly "how" it all would work. As we are in time now is how we are. Whether that's only our perception, it's still the only solid reality we can actually "prove." So if I were to go back in time, say, 20 years, "I" would still exist in the time I visited. So now there are two of lil' ole me. That's the first issue. How can I exist physically in a physical environment where I'm already present? Many believe this part of it is very possible, but I have my doubts. But that's only the whole "time machine" aspect of it. I've heard some theorize that the "ancient alien" theory is really just Earthly time travelers from the distant future. The gist being: time travelers in the year 4012 or something went back to 10,000 BC or so and gave humans a hand. If they are correct, that means time is an infinte loop and we're basically operating more like an episode of Lost on steroids, as it's our future that helps to build our past and present. That gives credence to those insisting "reality" is but an illusion, as there would be no start date, no stop date, or anything else "time" for the universe. It would all be a strange loop wherein the course of history for intelligent life has changed infinite times depending on who tampered with the past. It's actually an incredibly popular theory. Not only did Lost touch on a few similar aspects (although they changed the show's theme as it progressed), it's also been a theme in Star Trek, the movie Sphere, and plenty of books. My personal belief is that we would visit only an image of the past, much like a recorded movie. I don't think we'd be able to interact at all. We'd be more like ghosts in the machine. And there is really no guarantee that the physical matter wouldn't revert back in time, meaning if I were to go back in time 100 years, I might fade away along with the time machine, as it hasn't been created and I didn't exist in the time I'm visiting. This stuff makes my head hurt.

according to A. Einstein time is relative and that has been scientifically proven in experiments with high precision clocks. However, it only works for going into the future. If you wanted to go BACK in time you'd have to go faster than the speed of light which - again according to A.E. - is impossible. Anyway, besides Einstein, I can't imagine that you can go back in time and kill your parents so that you are never born LOL - just joking :D btw. I read in a physics book that you could travel the whole universe (if it was static) within 47 years if you accelerate at 9.81 m/s² (i.e. g) so that you would come very close to the speed of light. However, when you return your pals would have gone long ago, some 10000000000 years or so.
