stk40m responded to a discussion called Graphene the thinnest material in education.
oh boy, that's really extremely interesting. I just read the wiki article about Graphene. They say you could also built a space lift up to a geostationary orbit or you can produce microchips that are up to 200 times faster than any silicium based integrated circuit that can be manufactured: http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2009/graphene-palacios-0319.html they should also study possible envi...

usually when a physicist says ''let's suppose'' he limits a given situation to certain parameters. Problem is, as soon as we start to limit things we don't get the whole thing :-) Actually ''let's suppose'' translates into ''first adapt conditions to my imagination and then see if those conditions fit my theory'', so it's a quite egoistic thing if we say that. In fact all technology is based on...

choose a pet that is accustomed and affectionate to humans. A dog or a cat, in your case I'd suggest a dog. Birds want to be free, you know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZClS79egCM

stk40m commented in a discussion called cold spell proof for global warming in earth.

nah, not the entire world is cold. The average temperature is continuously rising but locally we have cold spells and I wondered if they could be related to the melting of the North Pole.

perhaps it is Copsychus malabaricus: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White-rumped_Shama I've seen a picture of the bird in a book recently. Where can I find your facebook account? While trying to find it I noticed you like the book ''Main Kamph'' ... uhm, I suppose that is ''Mein Kampf'' by Adolf Hitler ?! well, it's the same over here. Farmers have destroyed forests and natural landscape...

yes, I thought at first it was that one because you said robin but then I saw the foto and found the other one on Google search 'birds of India'. well, I clicked on your website link and tried to find your facebook address there (thx for PM btw) coz I wanted to see your bird photos. While doing so I saw your favorite books. In Germany it is a prohibited book because of the propaganda and ant...

Great Tit.s, oh, we have a lot of them here, I know them very well :-) Why is it that you spell the title of the book with wrong letters? Perhaps we are not really talking about the same book? I mean, only fascists and maybe some historians ''like'' the book anyway. Adolf Hitler was a psychopath and one of the biggest clowns of history, one that history really didn't need, just in case you d...

stk40m received a best response in the discussion Bird migration by shaggin.

I believe many people who like birds wonder a lot about bird migration. It is absolutely a must see (and a must film if you have a camcorder :D) when they fly across the skies towards the South. We also have birds in Germany that stay: same as your blackbirds ours do so as well and crows, too. Quite a number of finch and tit species stay, too. In former times when blackbirds mainly lived in the...

cold spell proof for global warming

today I read an article where scientists say that the current cold spell is a sign of global warming because of the deglaciation of the North Pole. Then I remembered from a physics book that to melt...

arming of the people?

I'm sick of reading in the headlines that politicians and others suggest to arm people in order to fight against the regime. That was true for Lybia and now it's true for Syria. This is stupid. This...

planting plants!

Hi garden friend!

I wonder if you have already planted some flowers, trees or other plants this year (in case you live north of the equator)? And if not, what are you going to plant? If you don't...
