hello my lotters, all knows my hubby works and lives abroad. we chat online everyday. recently, i saw his ring has become loose, it is a gold ring with real yellow sapphire which i gave him as a gift 5 years ago. he too gave me one gold ring with emerald. he had been to goldsmith who said it cant be made smaller, the stone must be removed, ring cut and welded. if repaired with stone there not removed, the stone will crack. here in my end, i too find my ring becoming loose. it seems the pain of separation makes us thinner day by day. I want him back soon. Can any body tell, how to make the rings fit our fingers without it being separated from our fingers for long? or is there a way that you know that could make it fit well without going to the goldsmith? ann

The pain of separation is definitely something that can cause you to lose a lot of weight. However, at least I can see that the bond between the two of you is strong. As far as making your rings fit without them being away from your fingers for a long time, the best suggestion that I can make is to simply have a jeweler put a sizer on them. That won't require that the rings be cut and it would only take a few minutes to have done. I actually need to do that to my rings because I was pregnant when mine were fitted to my finger and they are too big now, but I haven't been able to get to one.

hi dora, i hope the jeweler from here understands what that is. maybe i will try other jewelers because the first one i went to advised only 1 thing, and that is to have the gold band reduced. am thinking now. he probably wants only to earn and not really help. thank you for your advise. it certainly gave me a new idea. have a nice day. ann

Ha Ha! Ann, just wind up a layer(s) of fine and strong thread on the ring circle and bind it proper knots. I had made well like that years back for a bigger size ring and used it! Hope, this will make the rings well fitted to your and your hubby's fingers. Of course, trial and error method of adjustment is to be applied during winding and testing. Thanks and try this ready-made method!!

hi mitraa, what a pleasant surprise. i have not seen you for a while and i am happy i am seeing you here again. this method of making the ring fit without getting into the hands of the goldsmith seems very familiar. i would really be trying it out of course. thanks for the tip. have a very nice day. and ohh!! Happy New Year to you and your family. ann
