Getting ready for work

For me it's a simple as 1,2,3....get up, have coffee, get dressed. I don't need 2 hours to put on my make up and try to figure out what I'm gonna wear. I usually take my showers in the evenings so when I get up way before my alarm even thinks about going off cause in the last couple years I've been having some kind of sleep apnea, I just do a little computering have my coffee and toast and just waiting to go to work. My alarm is set for 4;30am which gives me about 50 minutes before I have to leave, plenty of time for me but since I'm usually up by 3;30 I have too much time on my hands before I leave so sometimes I do some housework since I'm bored sitting around waiting to leave.. How much time do you need in the morning or whenever you go to work?

Well, for me it is simple. Every morning, I just wake up because of my alarm. Sometimes I just stay on my bed for 5 minutes. Then I pray. Then I go bath. Then eat breakfast then I commute to work. That is my usual morning and I just enough time to do all those. I want to maximize my sleeping time.

My problem isnt getting ready, its getting motivated I can be ready in 5-10 minutes but I have to have at least one cup of coffee which I slowly sip for an hour before I will even think about getting dressed

Well, I just quit a job that started at 5a.m. That should be illegal! I would have 2 alarms go off at 4 and get up at 4:20. I showered just before I crashed for the night so I just needed time to put the uniform on and brush my hair and wash my face and brush my teeth. I'd take a coffee with me and a couple of granola bars. So, in all I was out the door in 20 minutes. Now, I have a new job working midnights. Love it! I'll get up in the afternoon and have all the time I want to get things done and have supper before I go to work for the night.

See I'm the opposite...I had to work midnight to 8am for a week one time and hated it. I like sleeping at night and working in the day time. I was never so happy when that week was over.

Hi, friend, i feel you are a lark. You know, i get up much later than you. And i am very very busy in the morning, of course not as you mentioned, to makeup or choose which dress to wear. Just because i get up so late and only got 1 hour to make breakfast, wash my face, brush my teeth, then go out for work. It is ok in the summer, because sun rises very early in the morning. But in the dark winter morning, i have to make a alarm to wake me up. Even with that alarm, sometimes, i still want to lie on bed for more minutes. And it really make me headache to head out of the warm house into the cold street in winter.

i usually also only take 30 minutes maximum to get ready to go to work... no more than that... i already get everything ready from the night before... my breakfast, lunch, clothes that i want to wear to work, etc... so in the morning i just wake up, brush my teeth, take shower and off i go to work... take care and have a nice day...

That's all I really need myself. If it wasn't for the fact I can never sleep well I wouldn't get up till about an hour before.

My work day starts promptly at 8 and since I like just 15 minutes away from the office, I get up at 6. Lay around some, watch Tv with my husband, and then get out our work clothes. Since I am not a breakfast perosn, after preparing the clothing for the day I will hit the shower even if I had one the evening before (I just do not feel comfortable without a morning shower). By time I am showered and dressed it's 7:30 and I head through the door. All in all 2 hours is mroe than enough time for me to get ready in the mornings

I usually end up having an hour and forty five minutes which is too much time for me. I get antsy and just want to go and get going but since I take the bus I just have to wait till it's time.

Hello missy bear. I take about 30 minutes to be set to go, as i like to eat before leaving to work. I do however had to leave in 15 minutes when i overslept, but i wasn't to please about it - lockily i was able to recover in the 1 hour trip with the subway, as i had a long way to go to reach work.

I am up by 4:30am and I usually piddle around until around 5. I have uniforms where I work so there is no need to worry about what I am going to wear either..lol. I put on a little makeup and blow dry my hair. I don't do much more than that..brush through it and spray it. I wake the girls and I'm out the door by 5:45am..lol.

I love my sleep, and hate getting up in the morning. I usually give myself a half hour to 20 minutes to get ready, make some coffee or tea, and chow down a breakfast sandwich or bowl of cereal. Not a lot of time, I know, but in high school I gave myself just 10 minutes!

Sometimes I get up way to early cause I can't sleep and then I have too much time on my hands before work. By the time I have to leave I don't feel like it anymore. That why 1 hour before I have to leave would be perfect.

Waking up at 3;30? That's too early! I don't need that much time too prepare myself for work, just 1 hour will do. SHower is a must for me because it freshes me up, followed by a nice breakfast, before taking my time to get dressed up. I don't mind waking up early but i don't like the feeling of waking up after a snooze. It makes me rush like hell.

I like to get up an hour or two before I leave the house. Sometimes I shower in the morning sometimes I don't. The first thing I do in the morning is take my ADHD medication, but I don't think it's at a strong enough dosage because I still find my mind wandering away a lot. I'm still on the starter kit, so it will increase this week. I don't bother doing my hair or anything fancy. I'm a college kid and dress accordingly. I just check the weather in the morning to see if I can wear shorts or not.

Wow you prepare for work fast. Me, i have my schedule for the morning. My alarm gets off at 5:30. I would pray & read a bible verse and mediate for 20 mins., prepare breakfast for 30 mins. , then take a bath for 15 mins. , then 20 mins. for putting on make-up, then 20 -30 mins. for breakfast , then 15 mins. for brushing my teeth, putting on my clothes, shoes, stockings, etc. , Then i am off to work by 7:30. Almost 2 hours, but i feel fine that i have done all that i have to do before work.

I'm up about 45 minutes before time to leave. That gives me time to shower , dress, pack my lunch & eat breakfast while playing an online game before heading out in the morning.

It depends. If I am doing my hair that day I will start a few ours before I need to leave by showering as it takes my hair a very long time to dry & it has to air dry to look right. If my hair is decent I would say about 90 minutes to wrap up loose ends before I go & that may or may not include some extra time to just get to work early to read up on what's going on ect & get ready to face the floor.

I can be ready in 20 but in the past have had to be ready in two minutes, no lie. A long time ago my ex dropped me off at home and I had two minutes to shower. I jumped in the shower, slapped some body wash on me, slapped some shampoo in my hair and rinsed.. then dried off fast, brushed my hair, threw my clothes on and was out...

Actually for me, it only takes an hour to prepare to work. I shower really fast and get dress fast as well. I did sleep late before I go to work but I do set my alarm clock an hour before work. Usually, I`m use to sleeping 5 to 6 hours because that has been my sleeping patter for quite sometime. I do hope it will change though. Its okay for me at some point though staying this way... ;D

i also use alarm to get up in the morning. These days it is very cold so it hard to wake up without the alarm. I put the alarm 2 hours before the work time, but i don't wake up on the first ring of the alarm. I wake up at 6:30am and that is half hour later then the first ring of my alarm. I know I am very much lazy. I can't do much about my habit and that is why I put the alarm 2 hours before the timings to go.
