American Express Closing their Greensboro NC Center

Have you heard they are closing the American Express Credit Card Center in Greensboro NC. It has over 2000 employees and will close down by 12/31/11. It will be devastating for the economy of the area. I have a few friends that are losing their jobs though they will have a decent severence package. Have you ever been laid off? How long did it take to find another job? Did you try to relocate with your original company? Thanks
