I bought this winter coat three years ago for my hubby. It's a parka with the big lined hood. I purchased it new. I paid $80 for it. In three years it has ripped 3 times. And my hubby just gets out the thread and sews up his coat. Now I have an Addidas winter coat. Darn thing is 11 years old. I got it when we were dating. That coat just gets thrown in the wash and BAM ready for a new year. Never had an issue.

I bought mine last year. I've never really had a coat I liked a lot. Most of them were too big and baggy or ugly. I could rarely ever afford a nice winter coat. Well, last year at this time I had already lost like 60 pounds, and obviously my coat was huge on me. So when we got our taxes back we went to JCPenney's and I found the coat I have now. I really wasn't crazy about it at first.. it's white! You know what that means! Think about my 5 kids.. and of course the fact that they use salt on our roads which makes our cars filthy.. so just brushing up against the car and ewww!! So yeah, I need to wash my coat like once a week. I would have preferred a black coat! But, it's holding up pretty well.. I do have a hole in one pocket though.. somehow managed to do that last year!

You are brave to get a white coat! I know I wouldn't either if I wouldn't be brushing up against something the kids would dump something on it.

coat - Me and my little 2 sledding.
I bought the coat in February with our tax money.. by then most of the coats were sold and the few they had were all on clearance. It was slim pickings to find a coat I liked that was my size. The black ones they had were UGLY! The white one was nice looking.. though I did hem and haw for the longest time because I really didn't want white. In the end I just went for it. Here's a pic.. well, not a great one, but I haven't taken too many pics of me in my coat!

I am the type of person that hates to throw something out, so I still have two jackets that is in great condition from my teen years, 1980's. And although I cannot wear them due to much weight gain, I cannot bare to throw them out. So, they sit in a spare closet. I sit back and watch my step daughters ( in 20's ) buying new jackets, one after another. If there is a new style, they buy it. It makes me sick when they have some perfectly good jackets already. Thank god I am not the one buying them, but I am really not going to complain, because they pass them down to my preteens, which helps out my pocketbook lol.

Dear friend, Here in our place winter is not too hard. Moreover I rarely use coats during winter here. But use coats during raining. But when I was in the North India I used to have coats, that too I bought it from the local market of Delhi in India. It is still in good condition.

I just this past December bought 3 "winter" coats. One is a dressy one with fur at the cuff and collar (Im in California... so they aren't heavy or thick or anything!) one is an every day..cordoroy with a hood and a light weight one..fleece lining and hood with zipper. The first 2 cost me $50 each, marked down from $150 each and the third one was $20 marked down from $75. (Sale at Kohl's) So $120 for three coats. Last time I bought a coat? 28 years ago, I bought one...at Lerner's. I didn't like it when I bought it but my husband said I could only buy at that store as I had a credit card there so my choices were slim and he said I looked good in it so I did the nice "wifey" thing and bought it. I hated it, it was to big on me, but I did what my husband said as I believed him. I had only that one coat up until last December! I hated it every time I wore it!I still hate it and love my new ones!

The coat I have is 2 yrs old. I thought I could use a real winter coat instead of a pull over coat that offered little protection when it comes down to it being really cold here in winter & wanted a hood again. I will agree though I had an Adidas coat from say 15 yrs ago and I finally got rid of it the other year. I loved it to bits but I'm not as skinny as I used to be and the cuff's had seen better days. But they do wear well I will admit. The pull over one that I've got I've had just as long I'd switch between the two.

Mine is still in the store somewhere in the northern part of the globe. o: Sorry my friend. But I don't have one. I live in a tropical country and wearing winter coat in here, is a crazy stuff. But I wish I can wear one some day, when I am in a country like yours. But I think not. I think I will die not seeing snows falling down from the sky. Good day!
