got down to negative 5 here last night now its not that we are not used to cold here, but the negative numbers this time of the year where we live is rare they reported it was the coldest temperatures here in 17 years and it was nasty cold. It was so bad it was freezing cars and semis and some cars were frozen sheets of ice it was something I sure hope that this cold spell is over, because this is just brutal. I would rather just deal with the snow then the nasty bitter cold like this. How is it where you are?

I'm in NC and it's a windy kind of cold. It wouldn't be that cold if it weren't for the wind. Weather here is so unpredictable, it'll be t-shirt weather one day, and the next you can't walk out with anything less than a hoodie and jacket.

yeah that is the worst part it has gone up and down so much this winter its been a lot more cold then it usually is I think people can forget about that global warming cause it is cold as heck here. they are calling for it to be above freezing today and i'll believe that when I see it and that will feel like a heat wave as cold as it has been.

Hey timmyy! Glad to see you're still around! Here in Hamilton, we've had some snow, but not a huge dump since the last melt. However, it has been very cold, and my pipes froze yesterday. Luckily, they thawed out again. Funnily enough, the cold water in the upstairs washroom thawed out hours before the rest did.

yes i am still around it got so bad here that it even froze our laundry soap. warmed up to a whopping 20 here yesterday, but compared to what it was that is a heat wave its supposed to get above freezing today and that would be a welcome site indeed it is no fun when the pipes freeze.

hey tiger! i miss you. where did you hibernate into? hehe cold spell is experienced all over but some got the extremes over the others. since we don't have winter months, we just get the over-extended rainy season with super cold winds. and like you, i'm not used to the colds at this time of the year too. gosh i can imagine how brutal winters can be. i don't know if i'll ever be accustomed to drastic change of weather from what i'm used to. hope everyone's safe. keep warm. if all else fails, think "europe" and what should have been the next chapter. lol that should keep the temperatures high.

This winter is very severe I would say. There has been heavy snowfalls, blizzards, icy road conditions, making things very dangerous to drive along the roads and highways. I was stuck at home for 3 days because of the freezing temperatures, going down to minus 25 degrees celcius. This is one of the coldest winters in the decade.

it has been pretty nasty we haven't gotten a ton of snow, but enough to be a pain and the brutal cold doesn't help any and they are predicting us to go back to the single digits again in a few days.

Hi. timhinyy. It is 58 degrees here in South Carolina. To some people that is great. But for me, it only means more sick people. This is flu season and it is not playing! I have never lived in a 5 degree weather before. I could not imagine how cold it is. We have had up to 19 degrees here before. And that is really cold to me. I hope that the weather warms up so that you can feel some kind or relief. To live in this kind of temperature must be annoying.

It's actually not been to bad so far this year. Our temperatures tend to see-saw. It was in the 60s then the rain came and right now it's in the 50s. By the time you factor in dampness and winds it feels much colder, but today was supposed to be sunny and nice.

you know its been a crazy winter when Atlanta has gotten snow twice this year has been the coldest it has gotten in almost 20 years so it sure is strange to get weather like this personally would just prefer the snow to this nasty bitter cold and hopefully the worst of the cold is over for now. there is some sign that says how many days till spring here, but it seems so far away at this moment.
