We're using DSL connection at home and sometimes we're having problems due to the location and sometimes the weather as well. Every time our connection gets cut I can't help but think of what else I can do when I don't have my connection anymore. I like going online after work and post as much as I can in a few hours but because of the problem of the connection, I didn't get a chance to log in as much as I can. Well I'm back but a few days was already gone Guys, if you're always online and likes doing a lot of stuff online, what will you do if your connection will be cut for like a few days even months? for me it would really make me insane...

Hiya frey, We have had to be without the Internet before and for times that can happen like that. I usually make plans and write notes down and things like that. I also get to go out a bit more too as the Television is not my favourite thing for watching all Day long either. It can be very annoying when you depend on it for work especially if you work online a lot. Very frustrating I would say. They once left us a whole month without Internet we did however manage to get back to normal again afterwards.

that would be very bad as I'm running an online business. So I depend on the Inet to earn my money. Well, a couple of years ago when I wanted to change the provider and the change didn't work due to a lack of bandwith I was left two weeks without a connection both phone and Inet as the original provider probably was still angry because I ''ran away''. In addition I had to pay another 60 bucks to get back. During that time I had to go to friends to check my email and stuff. Wasn't really what I'd call fun! I think Inet has become a necessity for many of us.

When I started using the internet I didn't have my own computer and I was only able to use the internet a couple of times a month. That was never a problem and I didn't miss the internet when I was away from the computer. Now I have my own computer and my own internet connection, and today I find it hard to live without the internet, because I use it in so many different ways. I have a wireless internet connection and it is not that great. I find it annoying when it doesn't work, and I miss it. I am able to use the internet from my phone, but it is slow and expensive so I don't usually do that.

In certain places it is a crucial problem. You can contact the service provider or lodge the complaint with them. They will rectify the issue and you can continue working. Here I had certain problems about 2-3 months back when I took the new different connection. Now they have updated their system and there is no problems at all. If there is any, just unplug the wire and reconnect, it should work properly. Still there is problem, once lodged the complaint, it will rectify within hr. time. If you get the problems continuesly, you can change the service provider to someone else to a better one. You may be having different service providers and find which will suit you the best and get it. Also, you can try with some other people or cyber place, for some time. But if you go out, the cost will be more and may not be affordable. Thank-s

That will never happen to me because i've always got backup. If i can't use my boardband, i can use my wifi instead. IF not, i can always use my mobile boardband which makes use of 3G. Ever since i got my boardband, i've ditched DSL aside because it's really really too slow. It's noisy as well, and i'm glad to have something more stable, quieter.

There are options, some of which are already mentioned by those before: 1. change ISP 2. Use Broadband on mobile through USB sticks. 3. Visit a friend with connection and ask for favour 4. Internet cafe 5. surf on phone. we all like doing stuff online, so better to have backup plans.

Why not hung out with you friends? I like surfing online very much too, but I also like to be with my friends. Because we need a real social life besides the internet. And if the internet is down, to be with friends should be a great choice to kill time.
