I have always fantasized traveling around world but to be honest ive never been to any place except my country.Im such an introvert but my mind always dreams of going to different places. My ex would always tell me, get out of your shell I want you to see the world. Well he meant it literally and figuratively i suppose.I have this fear of going out of my comfort zone, negative thoughts always run in my mind whenever travel is scheduled so i always end up backing out - afraid of the ship it might sink, afraid of the airplane it might crash, i get nauseated, just weird thoughts....But I tried riding an airplane once and that was it. For once i would want to try out of my country but how will I manage to do that?

I'm still nervous but i'm also very excited! If you really want to travel out of your country u must face your fears. just think of happy thoughts.

Alittle over a year ago I had the same fantasy. I wanted so to see so many places both here in the US and abroad. But, alas, I realized I would be too shy and panick sticken to go through the airport and find my way aloan. If I had an assistant to help me that would be great but who can afford that? I have severe depression and panic attacks. Social anxiety is no fun and i just never know when it will rear its ugly head.

Right! And let the cattle tromp on. I sure don't want to be one of them.

You hit it right Celtic, social anxiety isolates us from the rest of the world and nobody can blame us, right?

I think that you would benefit from visiting a country that is similar to your home country. Then you wouldn't suffer a culture shock. Hopefully it would have interesting sights and friendly people. You could travel there by train, bus, ferry or plane. You have to remember that a trip overseas for five days is a short amount of time. When you got back home you could have the delight of developing all your photos. When I was 20 years old I traveled around the world. My route was London-Los Angeles-Hawaii-Fiji-Sydney-Adelaide overland Cairns-Darwin-Singapore-London. Good luck with you getting to travel happily to one particular destination.

Wow!great! You've been to a lot of places!I don't actually have issues about culture, I am flexible in that way.My friends are of varied cultures so it's easy for me to adjust.Train and bus is not a problem, but ferry and plane-scary for me!

You have a phobia of leaving your comfort zone and a phobia to traveling by plane or a boat. There is help for that if you want it and really want to travel around the world. I'd love to do the same thing and one day I just might do that. I figure this, when God is ready for me, it doesn't matter where I am, He's going to take me regardless so I don't worry about it..... too much. lol

I would love to have the opportunity to travel. Leaving my own country would be an exciting adventure. there are so many wonders of the world to see. I wouldn't be afraid to travel alone, but a companion would make the experience much more enjoyable.

I like to travel that much to the point that my parents and relatives are too worried that I might encounter something bad and might not return. I only tell them this, If it is your time, then it is your time. No matter where you are when it strikes, it strikes. So even if you think you are safe by just staying at home, think again. The next big quake might hit your city, who knows. At least if something happens while you are traveling, you are doing what you like doing most before your time comes. So you can say, at least I've tried. There will be no regrets after. But again, those are horrific scenarios. When you are traveling, just be extra cautious when you are at your destination.

If you really want it, you should go for it. Think of what you will see when you reach your destination. That might over shadow your fear. Think of the white sand beaches, the palm trees, the mountains, the smell of mountain air or just being in front of your favorite statue or building. It is breathtaking and awesome. It is an experience you shouldn't deprive yourself of... hehehe...

in a way i am with you, i myself would like to travel but till i can't get myself to do something about that fact. But then there are a lot of factors that hinder me from traveling, like money and my family. maybe i will be able to travel in countries if i have the means to do so...when i win the lottery i guess hahaha and i could take my family with me to have no worries!

I also thought of that, but to conquer it was I just prayed for the safety of our trips. And in exchange of that you got to see all the sights of the place to where you are travelling and it will really keeps you moving out of your comfort zone.

just imagine the thrill if you would be able to visualize your thoughts! just find the basic things about the place you'll be traveling to. like how to get there of course and where you would stay. it would also be best to know the embassy location, and a few local words. live your life to the fullest : )
